The problem is...Provigil works best when taken daily. If used on an "As needed" basis it's not as effective. I forget why, but I know this. I need to find Jeanne, she knows.

No, you can take it on an as needed basis. But there has to be some kind of assistance.

My co-pay is over $100 as well, and it's tough. I wish there was something that worked as well. Try talking to your neuro about the way he prescribes it. I was paying $250 until he wrote the RX to say take 3 a day instead of 2, or something like that.

Well I am going to hold off on it for now, 100.00 is 100.00 plus I have other meds to buy also. My copays have all gone up 10,50 and 100.00 this majorily sucks. But of course I am thankful I have insurance.

HEY KIM, MINE WAS GOING TO ALSO BE OUTRAGEOUS...my dr and (bc/bs )and talked to them about it and they reduced it to 28.00-- it was going to be so high because it was being prescibed off- label for ms

The insurance companies really piss me off. I have Cigna I use to like them. This year they started giving all diabetes medications for free but yet they raise copays on all meds 10, 50 and 100. Their is no way I can pay 100 for meds, I view the who situation hopeless. Rebif was 40 last year and 100 this year,glad I didn't start it I would be unable to pay for it anyway.

kim, sometimes i just get a portion of the script filled...quiet a bit cheaper..

i also do this sometimes...before i shell out the big bucks -to see if me and new meds--are gonna do well together.

My neuro prescribed Amantadine for fatigue and my copay on it was only $10 even though it was not a generic. It worked for me so you may want to check into the cost for this drug.

I guess Amantadine is the generic name and that is why it was only $10.

ask your dr for samples before buying any, it only worked for me for a little while.

I am going to wait until my appointment next month to see about the cheaper drugs. I doubt this guy has samples of anything they acted like they didn't even know what provigil was. LOL

i was able to get my provigil at cheaper rate (i have cigna too) by doing a sleep study and having the doctor say that i had sleep apnea. so the provigil is prescribed the the sleep apnea instead of the MS. maybe that will work for you too.

I know people have had it worse than I, I just know I don't have even 100.00 just hanging around to pay for 100.00 copays. I am sorry you had to pay 1150.00 for your rebif, I am happy you had 1150 to pay for it.
