the numbness and tingling didn't stop me from walking. what got me was the progression of the MS.
The greatest improvement to my balance issues has been aqua aerobics. I can now put my pants on without sitting down or lurching to one side.
So I can say that for me the physical activity has been a boon. The tingling and numbness doesn't stop but these symptoms don't stop me from being fairly active.
My advice is continue exercising as much as you can since this disease is not going to go away. But you can make tremendous improvement in so many facets of your life as long as you don't give up. I have wanted to give up but in the end I refused. Today, I am so grateful I didn't.
at first, i had balance problems so i used a cane to steady myself. over time i moved to a walker for more support.
physical therapy helped me a lot, along with the Ampyra. i have plastic braces for my foot drop. they help a lot too.
i don't recall the numbness interfering with my walking.
at first i didn't want to respond to your post because i didn't want to discourage you by telling you about my problems.
just remember that each persons ms is different. your neuro should beable to help you. :)
