prednisone causing rash?

I stoped taking prednisone 2 days ago and I woke up with a rash today. It does not itch its just a red rash on my chest and arms. Stopping the prednisone is the only thing I can think of that is causing this. Has anyone else had this happend? I did a 3 day IV steroids then a week of tapering off of prednisone.

I have never had a rash with prednisone, but I do get an awful headache! You should talk with your doctor to see if it could be a reaction to the meds or not, I think the steriods is a drug that stays in your system for a bit, but I would think that if you were going to have a reaction that you would have had it when you did the IV. Normally when I have a drug reaction it happens as soon as the drug gets in my system. Might just be me though, so call your doc. I wish you the best and hope that it goes away soon!

This could be a reaction but you should tell the doctor about it. When I was taking roids, I didn't have a reaction. My other infusion could cause a headache though if I didn't take some benadryl; however, I took a pill instead of what they add to the I-V because the stinging wasn't pleasant to say the least.

Do let the doctor know - he might need to adjust something. And keep an eye on your symptoms. Let us know what they tell you.

Hope your rash lets up quickly.

The Dr thinks it is a reaction to the prednisone. But I took it for a week then stopped and a day later got the rash. Wouldn't I have had a reaction when I first started taking the prednisone? The only thing I can think of that I changed at the same time is I started taking vitamin D and Calcium pills. So it is either that or the prednisone. I didn't think someone could be alergic to vitamins!

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
