I am on prednisone for pain. . .the first day was great! I had so much energy and did a lot of catching up, the second, whew! I was worn out. Yesterday, the third day, I started having real bad pain in my hips, it eased up a little with my baclofen, then this morning I woke up in horrible pain in my hips!!! Is this normal?? I thought it was supposed to help. . .not make it worse! If I had a cane. . .I'd be using it. What have I got to expect for the next 5 days??

I was on prednisone also after solumedrol and I just went downhill. I got off that real quick. I was told also that it would help by my local doctor, but I then called my mayo doctor and she said to stop taking it. Good Luck

Sherie.. my dad has been on prednisone for arthritus for a few years now and has been trying and trying to totally get off of it...he goes down in dosage over and over but has to keep going back up... he absoultly hates the side effects of it... the weight gain ...etc..
he is going in for hip replacement in september and while he is in the hospital i am going to talk to his dr. about switching him to LDN for the pain rather than leave him on the prednisone..

He has been on it now for about 4 years and absoultly hates it....

Dear Sherie

Sorry to see you in pain like that! I too had lots of pain on steroids but mostly due to the IV ones. At least I thought so. That was a bad side effects for me. Mine took about a week to go away after taking them. Hope it goes away soon for you. If not call your DR!

i am currently on solumedrol and going on prednisone, my back pain is immense but the percocet helps and keep in mind a diet high in calcium and nutrients i recommend because steroid treatment is very hard on the bones.

Thank you all so much for your help! I am feeling better this morning. I will watch what is going on and if it gets any worse, I will go back to the doc.
