seems all i do is take pills and pills. I suffer alot with pain in my legs 24/7. I get very little releif from anything i take. Im getting very tired of lving like this. I ve had no luck with peripheial nerve pain meds nor narcotic pain meds. and my lack of physical activity is probably making my legs worse/weaker as well. just FRUSTRATED! :(

sorry you are in pain i tried gabapentin for a few days it made me too sleepy, they gave me percocet which didnt work at all, i think mine was a flair, but i still think i need to change from avonex 2 flaires in a month. what have you tried for pain? I agree this all sucks!

I tired percocet and loritab, it didnd help either. i dont get it, i know my doctor thinks im crazy or doesnt believe me but NOHTING has worked. The only "TEMPORARY" relief i get is a warm bath, not hot but warm to soak my legs and stretching---- which I DO NOT do near enough.

There is so much more available then gabapentin, percocet and loritab! In fact, these are probably the worst drugs for you. If you see a pain management specialst, he has a whole new world of medications at his disposal and I'm sure you will work together to find something to give you a better quality of life. Months ago, before I worked with a pain management specialist, I wanted to take my life because of the pain I lived with 24 hours a day. Now, I am almost pain free and loving the quality of life that the doctor has given back to me! There is no reason that you need to suffer, and knowing what I've been through and how I've been helped, I want to encourage you to find some help too. Yes, I take loads of pills every day, but I don't mind because the alternative is unacceptable. Please reach out for a pain management specialist, your neuro doesn't have the training and knowledge to help you in this manner, except to throw you a few percocets and the like. Good luck to you.

Glad to see somebody getting some relief. the percocet and loritbas were actually presicribed to me by a pain management doctor, as my neuro wants tnothing to do with narcotics or antidepressants. The pain management doctor also gave me Keppre, its an older drug, similar to neurotin but with the less side effets, It actually did seem to help some at first but not anymore, I think i may be jsut having a relapse? I dont know, I still dont get the whole MS thing.

You said you don't strech enough? You have to. I sometimes take a heating pad on low, and wrap it aound my calf or thigh, wherever I am feeling it, and strech with that on. It helps me to be able to do more. It is really hard sometimes to keep it up, and some days I wake up and feel defeated by fatigue before I even get up. But it helps, and you know that, So do it. I am not a big meds person, so I really try to get by without much. If I let myself not exercise, I feel alot worse. You will feel better if you develope a good routine, even if it isn't alot. One more thing that you can say you planned on and accomplished that day, and that feels geat as well.

Thanks for your post, you'd think you knew me and my lack of stretching.... I will admit , i am very bad at consistancy in taking care of myself. I MUST DO the stretching!! thanks

I think that we have to find things that we put on schedule...think of all the times you went to work and it was so hard! It is important to set other kinds of goals now, so that you still feel like you are being productive, and this is for your health. I know you can do it. I left work in January after working my whole life, and it took me a little while to get that I had to get other things in line. You will be able to get it, I know it.

You can check with your doctor whether he can prescribe medical marijuana to you, provided it is legal in your state. I’ve heard medical marijuana has been effective in treating chronic pain that does not subside even after taking NSAIDs and other pain-relieving drugs, including opioids.
