So grateful to have gone to a P.T. today, he was actually very concerned about my needs. He did the hour's worth of evaluation, and then told me he thinks I actually need a "more knowledgeable" therapist! He could have just kept treating me, and I might not have noticed "his care" being anything other than basic...but, he believes I need a therapist who is more in the know about Neurological issues!
So grateful for his honestly, and for his evaluation! Now, I await for the next one, and hope that one will be able to help me get the needed help!
I just wanted to say that I am very grateful for those p.t.'s who are actually helping us MS'er's!
Anxious to get some good strengthening exercises started, and anxious to figure out how to get some of my issues under control!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Its great when someone recognize that they lack the capacity for something.
Last week I saw mine and he asked if I was doing the home program, I am and in three days off I loose a lot.
I try to do even ten minutes, but almost never a day off.
Ms doesn't rest, why should I.

Yes, you are. They can't force you but they know what works. That stupid little exercise with the eyes closed, I dismissed also, but after getting used to it.now I do it daily.
She used to make me stand between bars cross my arms on my chest, close my eyes and she would give me light pushes in different directions, we laughed a lot because thats exactly how it feels when walking, like if someone is pushing me. Every day I managed to learn how to use my shock absorbers to avoid falling. She showed me how to do them at home safely. I stand on the hallway touch the walls on both sides, close my eyes and rock side to side. When im very dizzy, I do this and feel better almost immediately.
When I started going I could barely pedal six minutes, I mean slow, im going to cry scream six eternal minutes. Now im pedaling at home one hour, once or twice a day. Now im working on walking for longer than five minutes. Remember Rocky climbing those steps? I got that feeling,,, that desire to conquer,,,,, dr said I wasnt going to.....im still walking.
Dont think you waste your time when you give it to yourself.

I agree with Alma about how the exercises do "feel" useless, but, I also do know that even tho the exercises are simple, with time the do increase our abilities. I would suggest you get a friend, or family member to help you...tell them it is a "simple child's game, and you are just reverting back to simple fun!"...then have them help you with the things that are difficult!
I am needing help with simple things like "help lift my legs in place, why I tilt them out when in a bent position". I will give us interaction time with the person helping us! The person helping usually likes being the helper. So, choose someone who likes you! he he
I used to help my best friend, (who had ALS) do her exercises...ironically, now I am the one who needs that friend! (She is gone now, but, I do still have some friends who may help me!)
Do your best, keep doing even the small things, and they will help you, I am sure!
