I can tell you a coupla things. One is that is one of the very first things that began to bother me. It was just the one toe on each foot and then it progressed to several toes eventually. Of course this was probably about 6 years ago. Much has happened since then. Many more symptoms now and almost non stop activity. I have learned that this is not good...many symptoms and non stop activity. If I had been less concerned about other people and their negative views about me maybe I would have made that initial neuro visit much sooner.
The other thing I know to tell you is that I am reading a book right now about MS and how to manage ones life with it. I have not been dx'ed but I do have lots of MS symptoms and they are worse than miserable. I figure even if I don't have MS I can still use the book to help manage the painful symptoms. So a good investment. Anyway, one of the symptoms listed in the book is a painful tenderness that is so painful even "the touch of bedsheets can cause great pain"--sound familiar?
You need to see your doc and don't put it off. It could be anything including gout , arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or the beginnings of MS. Plus there are many other things I am sure it could be. The point is...you are experiencing real pain for a reason you currently haven't a clue about. You can be like me and just ignore it for years as it slowly gets worse and worse...or you can take your health by the horns and show it who's boss. That boss is YOU...NOT your friends, family or even a doc who says
There is nothing wrong with you. As long as there is fire there will be smoke (really sounds stupid the other way, besides I have had smoke plenty of times without fire:-) ... ) and as long as you feel pain then there will be a cause for it. My best wishes for you....Welcome to you...and my prayers for you.....Irish
Still can't walk on right foot at all & it is agony right through it now. Have severe osteo arthritis, sympathetic nerve dystrophy & avascular Necrosis (basically crumbling of bones due to steroid use).
Seeing another specialist on Monday & just hope for some help as it is agony 24x7.
Please don't leave the foot/toe pain as it is usually a symptom of something as the feet are the feeling part of a lot of joints etc in rest of body. That's why acupuncture & massage look at feet to get blood flow etc.
Thanks again.
