Hi, with your other symptoms too it may be a headache/migraine. Have you been to your Dr/neuro about it? I would be going there too if optician says it is fine. Do you have any pain/symptoms on rest of body? I am always reluctant to jump to a conclusion but look around it for other possibilities too. Thats the way way I have always looked at any symptoms & when I go/phone the Dr I always have a list to go from so I know I cover it all. My Dr's are all used to me & most take the list now & go through it in order with me. Even when I went to a new Dr recently he said that it was really good to have a list esp as was very scattered that day.

I am waiting for a referral to see a neuro after having a cat scan and shadows were found on it. I feel like I can't think straight and my right arm and leg feel weaker than my left and awful left sided headache that painkillers don't touch.
I always go to my gp with lists of symptoms too because you can forget stuff.

Hi, I had optic neuritis years ago and I did not have pain , i had blurry vision in my right eye that lasted for about 3 days.

I have experienced this before & now (which is why I am in the hospital now). However, the first time I went to eye dr and was told that everything was ok it appeared the pain was from where my eye sight has chg from bad to better due to hormones changing. ....ok whatever. He assured me that the MRI of the brain I just had earlier that day would be just fine.

Next day I went back to see him with the news I had 3 lesions on the brain & MS. Should of seen the look on his face. Anywho, it wasn't optic neuritis but the iv steroids did help a lot.

I personally would let your MS/neuro dr know but would also get a second opinion from another eye dr. Sometimes when your dr knows your issues (ms etc) they tend to just chop it up to you over worrying.

I hope you get better soon, I know how scary disturbance with eye sight can be.

Please see an opthalmalogist (sp?) who is a medical doctor in addition to being an eye sepecialist. They can do all the tests for ON. Also, your neuro can look into your eyes and see what is happning. My former retired neuro could see the scar tissue in my eyes from an episode of ON from 30 yrs ago.

An ophthalmologist is the way to go. An optician mainly checks for vision so one can get glasses. An ophthalmologist is trained to look for disease and other problems with the eye.

When I had OP I don't remember pressure behind the eye but I do remember having headaches. The steroid treatment helped clear it up. Please let us know how you make out in your appointment.

Hi i don't think its optic neuritis. when i had it was a severe pain like a tugging behind my eye especially when i would look around. my eyesight also changed, i had foggy/blurred spots. hope ths helps.

Does ON always include pain? I had an episode a couple years ago where my vision in one eye suddenly went very blurry and no matter what my optometrist did to try to correct it, it was blurry. It eventually cleared up on its own. Lately It seems my vision has gotten a lot worse again. What I could see fairly well without glasses is now so blurry that even when I do wear my glasses it's better but not clear. It's in my left eye. All my life my right eye has been worse, but with this very blurred vision. It's my left eye. I can't say it hurts though, but there is a slight strained muscle feel around that eye.
