I've done so many goofy things like that, myself and I joke about it with my husband and kids. They know that if Mom's not joking around or laughing, I'm not feeling well.
Although I have had numerous experiences similiar to yours, my broken memory prevents the recall of any specific incident.
I can't remember specific occasions but there are certainly times when names of familiar people slip away and facts I should know stay on the tip of my tongue.
Yet there are other times when I can answer a lot of the questions on quizzes. Except I have always found multiple choice can confuse me...those extra wrong answers like Springfield which could be right but....
And I have always forgotten the punchline to jokes but now I can blame my MS and laugh.
Only problem is having a dimming memory is not good for a thriller writer trying to devise taut plotlines. Suppose there are stick it notes.
Anyway don't forget we can't be RAGING IDIOTS just geniuses having a temporary lapse in our little grey cells. So perhaps its best not to engage the mind and just look wise & thoughtful.
Keep on laughing. Its the best medecine
When OPPs! she dropped her artwork on the table, and holy cra*, Yolk came out! The group-dumbfounded and laughing had to 'spin' each egg to find the 'raw' ones!!! Exactly 12! I wasnt laffing at the time, more like pacing in the kitchen, trying to remember exactly how I came to think those eggs were Boiled! I had NO MEMORY RECALL---just blank, couldnt find the picture in my head At All. !!
