I totally know what you are saying...the burning thing...is annoying. It happens from the side of my foot to just a little above my ankle. I know it is from nerve damage and there are meds you can take....hopefully someone will come along and give you the name of the meds.

Yes, there is Lyrica and Neurontin. I believe there is another, but can;t recall name of it.

Lyrica and Neurontin are in same family, but Lyrica is "new and improved". I tolerate it better than Neurontin as far as side effects, and it seems to work better too, for me anyway.

Thanks, for the info, tho after my Nuerontin experience, I'd rather have the freakin burning... anything NON prescription?... I take enough rx's I'm looking for something I can grab off the shelf of CVS. :o) Thanks guys! Or foot baths something like.

I take a lot of Lyrica for nerve pain... Combination of Vitamin B6 and Magnesium (Its sold as MagneB6 in our country) in non prescription, when the pain is really bad i take high doses of it on top of Lyrica.

Tried everything to address that abominable burning, but it wasn't until I started having seizures and was put on 1200 mgs of Tegretol, that it improved. The Tegretol also got rid of my horrible, permanent banding.

Try crushing asprin and mixing it with rubbing alcohol make a paste and apply it to those annoying areas. It works but wear gloves when applying or your hands go numb. good luck.

if it is not to bad and you want an over the counter remedy..try gold bond powder...they make a few different types..look for the one that covers burning feet..and give it a go...may work depending on how bad it actually is....i used it in the begining...and it worked great...smile..

CVS does carry a cream for neuropathy I am sorry it is too late in evening to call and ask. I was going to ask the pharmacist when I go in there the next time. It runs around $30 I have even seen an ad for it in Ladies Home Journal. Rite-Aid is also mentioned in that as along with CVS. Hope to try it soon it I run across the name I will let you know.

google otc creams for neuropathy. I found alot of info in a short quick time. Zostrix is an OTC cream for neuropathy. Also found this: Cayenne's fiery compound, capsaicin, is used in topical creams. ... Wash your hands with soap after applying the cream to avoid spreading it to the eyes, ...maybe rubbing in cayenne powder may work as well.

My hubby does not have the burning which is good. However, I am proactive like to learn what works in the event he has an issue with it in the future. If any of these work for you or don't then PLEASE post. I would love to hear what you have to say about this.
