Ok.. neuro just called me at work.. He said this as he is comparing this last scan to one he says I had in 2008 ( I dont remember having one in 2008 for one thing)......he says this:
.- quote-unquote " there are two spots on both scans, not exact same two spots.. one is gone from last scan, one is here , different from that one, one is the same"...........
SAY WHAT ??????????????????????????????????????
My job is on recorded lines so I was able to play it back several times, thus being able to actually quote what he said..........
He says UMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I still dont think the spasms and pain are caused from any MS but again maybe from your fibromyalga as I stated once before........however I''ll prescribe for you Zanaflex and that should help with the spasm. ....
Ok.. I am colleged educated but not a doctor however.. my "experience with fibro has been mostly pain in several areas.. NOT SPASMS in my left foot and left hand that curl up like the feet of the wicked witch on Wizard of Oz when the house falls on her..................
I dont even know what else to say..
Anyone on Zanaflex.. ( aka Tizanidine ) .. looked it up and says its a muscle relaxant treatment for spasms, cramping and tightness of muscles caused by medical problems such as MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, back pain and other injuries to the spine or central nervous system.. oh yeah............and fibromyalgia too.........
I'm lost I guess.. I like straight answers and I dont like the one he gave me.......

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I have Crohn's and MS and it is hard to distinguish between what is causing what. All you can hope for is something that will help treat the problem no matter what the cause.
Your doc is likely to say 2 things, if confronted directly--'I don't think MS is causing it & I can't say MS isn't causing it, either'.
Typical physician response in my experience.
Its the nature of MS---and you have learned enough of both diseases, you keep current on both diseases, so you know your MS is being treated & fibro is being treated, both as much as they can be.
It may be that you need to go to a neuro you can trust, as this one has already lost your trust & likely will not be able to regain it either.
Those pain & anti spasmodic meds, I have read post from people who needed to try a few before they found one that helped them. So even if he is listening & prescribing symptom relief meds---its rather worrisome if you have to work with him to try a few before you find the one that helps you.
So I can understand you being upset at what & how he said it.
