Stretching and using the muscles does help, even though it is hard to do when you hurt and are fatigued. I've had good success with aqua therapy over the past year, and my therapist also does something called "trigger=pointing" where she presses on the spastic muscle to get it to release. It hurts very badly at first, but then you can feel it give way and the relief that comes with that. I would suggest a good Physical Therapist if you don't have one, they can help a lot.
