I thought this article was interesting. Apparently in rats it helped when given before exposing them to EAE and even the ones who already had EAE the vaccine improved their condition and disease course. I'm interetsted to see where they go with this.

Just watched the video again. It awas pretty exciting to see a rat go from dragging its hind legs to standing up on them. I'm going to ask my neurologist about this next month. I really hope this is THE ONE.

We must have seen the same article. Unfortunately the company developing this vaccine has gone under and no one has picked up their research so things are in limbo and have been for a few years. This is a major breakthrough - one that I think Big Pharma doesn't want to touch since apparently all you need is 3 shots to start and then 2 boosters a year. There was a woman in Britain who was on the study and became "normal" again after the vaccine and now she is back to ground zero! How sad that we aren't even trying to cure disease anymore, just make money.

That has got to be one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I can't believe the rat went from paralysis to running around like that. Thanks for posting this one Brian, I'm so glad I decided to check it out. :-)

Darn, Auntilyn. I was all ready to sit down and start researching any progress the group was making but I guess you answered that. Maybe one of us can win the lottery and start up the program again. Ok we'd all have to win the lottery. And then some. I'd be surprised if someone doesn't pick up the torch. It seems so promising. And so much has already been done. Maybe we can get the Gates Foundation on board. They operate in a high MS incidence area.

OK, here's another vaccine that actually got as far as being tried in humans. This was in the last few years, but I can't find any more recent stories.

Thank you for posting this. I will have to look into this. I am familiar with the University, but I hate to watch the video to see what they do to a rat. I will have to brace myself to view the video at a later date (I am an animal lover so it is hard).
I will also talk to my MS Society chapter and what they think about this research.
