Every doctor I see tells me the MS will make everything else worse or seem worse. Is this true for you guys?

I have developed a few other autoimmune diseases and a lot of misc problems... some are serious. I keep running from one specialist to another to address all the oddball problems and they all tell me the same thing when they hear I have MS. Even the pharmacists agree that MS will cause other things to be worse.

What's your experience?

It isn't always the ms as such that makes things seem worse, often that we are worn down by it so when something else hits ms often plays up or makes our tolerance lower. That's how my GP describes it.

MS tires me out. This puts stress on the body. When the body is stressed it makes sense that other ailments would seem even worse.

It works the other way too. When I have a cold or fever my MS symptoms drastically increase.

Pain or inflammation in the body will increase my MS symptoms too. I remember I had an infected tooth, and at the same time I added an MS hug on top of that.

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 1978. I did so much research, our support group leader starting sending women to me! I found out that many woman with auto-immune disease develop at least one more. Ms certainly hasn't helped. Really stinks, but I'd be happy tp PM with you and share whatever I can that might help you.

When you have 1 autoimmune disease you do tend to have lower immune system. Mine was probably already low as I have asthma, excema, hay fever, ins & had endometriosis earlier but had full hysterectomy.
I now also have diverticular disease & severe back pain, may need surgery soon on it.
Ms does make things seem harder too sometimes.
