Search the previous posts, alot of good info is imbedded in these posts. Mine (Monark brand) work by pushing to brake, pulling down to accelerate. You can use your feet while they are installed if you are comfortable with that. Contact your local MS Society for info on where to get controls installed in your area. Some have said the society may even help with the cost. Most car mft. also have a $800-$1,000 allowance when you buy a new car that can be used towards automotive handicapped equipment. I have bought scooter racks, handcontrols and just paid to have hand controls moved to a new vehicle.

A stick shift will be an impossibilty.

I was a forever stick shift driver myself. I lived in San Francisco and loved the challenge I guess (masochist I am huh?). Anway, I couldn't handle it anymore and I had to get an automatic. The first one was a Honda Civic which was ok but quite a bit to desire. I traded it in for a Honda Accord.
I constantly use the cruse control freature. You don't need feet to drive nor a whole lot of hands either. I just press the magic button and off I go and it can be stopped by pressing the magic button.
I love this car for several reasons. You cannot lock you keys it in nor walk away with the lights on as an alert sounds. I need this! You might check into getting an automatic which cruise control and also air conditioning which is a must for folks like us.
I am 55 years old and still drive frequently. I have no ticket nor accidents on my record ever and passed the vision test, etc. the last time I came up for review a few years ago.
The main reason I had to dump the clutch is because I couldn't get my left foot on/off the clutch at times. It was my left foot of course and is my weak side. I have this problem at times (left side weakness; dragging the left leg still).
I am R/R MS and progression has been slow for me since I was dumped (aka "retired").
