The Paleo diet has been around for awhile. I first heard of it several years ago. A lot of people have had success with the Swank diet from what I have read but its hard to limit fat intake to 20%. I admire people who can do it.
I want to try the paleo diet but have so many other issues to deal with I find it a bit overwhelming right now. I'd love it if a group of us started it and we had a sub-group sharing experiences!
I stick to an anti-inflammatory diet right now prescribed by a nutrionist. Ideally no refined sugar, no wheat products, no corn, no processed food. I read long ago dairy is bad for ms so I consume almost no dairy. Some people say gluten is bad for you and if allergic to it you have celiac disease. That is dx by a simple blood test. I am ok so concentrate more on avoiding inflammatory foods.
I have felt better and more energetic but its not a huge difference.
If you google anti-inflammatory diet you will find a lot of info. And this site has loads of info on healthy diet approches.
I think diet plays an important role in treating MS. There are a lot of approaches. Your Dr. is quite up to date to know about the paleo diet.
Good Luck.

Dr Swank did lots of studies and his patiens who managed to eat less than 15 grams of saturated fat did hardly get sicker. They were also supplementing with Omega 3s, daily rest etc
I am also VERY inspired by Terry Wahls and her diet which is similar to a Paleo diet,, but only small amounts of meat and fish and no dairy. Her main thing was that after years on Copaxone she kept getting worse. She started taking lots of supplements which slowed her decline. Then she wondered what would happen if she got her nutrients from food instead of supplements? She eats huge amounts of vegetables and fruit and no longer need a wheel chair (and no longer take Copaxone).
I think we are all different and need to try different things to see what works for us.
Personally I am on a kind of Swank diet (tiny bit of meat, some fish and some cheese which I know I shouldn't have. I try to eat huge amounts of veggies. I also don't eat gluten which makes a huge difference for me. I try to follow a Candida diet which means no sugar (which is very hard for me), but I can literally feel the inflammation in my body after sugar/wine etc.
1 1/2 years ago I did an alternative food allergy testing. I tested allergic to 33 things (some more than others). I am very allergic to things like oranges and tomatoes which was very surprising. I also need to stay away from most of these foods. I accidentally ate some orange last week-end and could hardly function for 2 days and not sleep at night due to unbelievable bone type pain in my legs.
So... if I manage to follow this regimen above it equals an anti-inflammatory diet.
I wish you the best finding out what works for you.
