Wow Bon! I know the 23rd sounds like a long wait, but that is actually pretty good by the standards where I am. It took me 4 months to get in to see just a regular neuro!

I'm so happy you found a specialist (did you have to have a referral to make the apt?) and I hope he can give you the answers you need!

I told them the story of my regular Doctor and all the trouble I have had with her. They found 4 lesions on my brain about 3 weeks ago, and I have not heard one word from her, geesh amazing. So they set the appointment without the referral. :)

It might help to have a symptom book to bring with you.
The way I was told to do it was make a grid on the left list all symptoms on the top of it break it off into days
then each day write down how bad the symptom is
pain
numbness
weakness
tingling
etc
make sure to make a list of symptoms even small ones that you have gotten used to
having this will help the docs greatly they get a better picture this way

This is very good news Bon! Like Lisa said, it usually takes months to get into a speciality facility so waiting until mid-October is excellent. Also, like Kayce said, put together a listing of all your symptoms, prioritize them, list when they showed up, list when they left, if they left, and provide a copy to the neuro you are seeing. Also take a copy for yourself to talk from. I want to tell you to list all of your symptoms, but I don't want you to overwhelm your doctor, that's why I mentioned to prioritize them, so that if you get to speak to the sheet, you might only get to speak to a couple of symptoms. Also, get ahold of your MRI's and take them with you to the appointment. The speciality facility won't do anything without seeing the proof in the pudding so make sure you have them. Good luck on the 23rd, and you need to come back and tell us how it went please.

Yes, your other doctor is not worthy of your time. However, I think I would pursue her after you seen the speciality neuro just to see what she says about not contacting you for so long, and what her diagnosis is. I guess I'm just a curious person.

Thanks guys, I will list all my symptoms. I have all my MRI's on CD, so I will be bringing that also. I will be contacting my Dr. to give her a piece of my mind, it wont be pretty because when I came to her with all my symptoms and told her I wanted to rule out MS, she said " you dont have MS, but I will humor you", turns out I had 4 lesions on the brain and they are pretty sure it IS MS. Maybe that is why she is not contacting me lol.....she is in the wrong line of work.

Dear-you got an appt fast.I know you know all this , but take a neatly written paper of ALL your symptoms, no matter how small you think they are and keep a copy for you.Ask doctor to attach your sympton paper to your file.Also I wrote down a list of questions that were mportant for ME to ask doctor.Take someone with you who loves you and will SUPPORT YOU and they can also take notes for you.Best of luck dear and will be thinking of you on the 23. .I am turning mine at this point over to God now cause with my frree wiil I have called docs and no calls back, no DME referrals, no Dr, consults that I have requested- among my GP,neuro,endo or gyn and no OT eval.I think at this stage I have done all I can-told God thanks for his giving me the extra energy to try this, but I am weary.

Bon, unfortunately some primary docs are not familiar with MS symptoms. I had to go thru 2 primary doctors and finally the 3th one mentioned MS when I told her my symptoms and then got referred to a neuro.
