P.S. My nuro told me that the women she sees that have had kids progress much slower than women that have not had children. She said she is even sure she has seen pregnancy put MS in remission in several women. She did warn me (we are hoping to have kids soon too) that about half of women will have a relapse, either immediately after birth or in the following few months and not to be worried about it too much because overall just having the baby will boost my long term prognosis.
Good luck and hope everything goes well for you both.
Do give yourself permission to rest frequently. Not only do you have MS, but growing a baby takes a lot out of you. Also, gentle stretching was and still is helpful for me when I have numbness.
If you have generally been doing well and you take it seriously that you need to be very good to yourself right now, I believe your outcome should be very good.
I do recommend that you get as much help as you can as your pregnancy progresses and post-partum. Whether this means family or friends, paid help and/or letting the unessentials go for now. This is such a precious time in your life.
It seemed to make all the difference for me during my most recent (3rd) pregnancy. My first two were much more difficult and I had significant relapses post-partum. I also did not have as much help and I had too high of expectations of myself!
This is such a precious time in your life! Take good care of yourself and congratulations!
