I had my 3 month follow up brain MRI on Wednesday December 26th. I had my appt to "discuss" last Friday. My neurologist said that, not only weren't there any new lesions, the one that they found on my last MRI is no longer visible! We talked a little about my symptoms (which are all basically a very mild version of what happened during my flare) and scheduled an appt for another MRI in 3 months. These guys sure know how to make $$$, MRI's are EXPENSIVE!
Anyway, NO MS diagnosis! No MS-like activity in my brain! No treatment! We continue to watch and wait. He reminded me that this is not an all clear. It just means that my risk of developing full blown MS is steadily and very slowly falling from the 80% chance he gave me 3 months ago.
On another note, I got the requisite lecture about quitting smoking. So I started reading Allen Carr's EASYWAY to stop smoking and I can't see how I could actually respect myself and continue smoking after I finish this book. I'm getting excited to put the cigarettes down, once and for all. I would recommend the book to anyone looking to quit. Or anyone who has quit and still feels like a "smoker" who can't smoke.
Hope everyone is well!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Good luck quitting. I quit 6 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with my now 5 year old. Hardest thing to do, but I'm so glad I did it. Sometimes I still want to, but I know I can go the rest of my life without smoking and undo some of the damage I did.
Congrats on quitting smoking,I have e cigs but they are heavy and don't taste the same. :(. But they work in a pinch.
I gave up smoking a few years ago, had tired to quit many times but it wasn't until I started having asthma attacks that I was finally able to quit. I think knowing that your health will benifit helps when quitting smoking. Hope it all goes well
Im sorry you still in limbo.
I used a group here to quit smoking, its also a great bunch of people and knowledgeable about the addiction.
My daughters got me an ecig at walgreens, disposable, I only used three during the process and puffed on an empty one for a while because im afraid of what its in them, more nasty chemicals is my guess.
I did noticed some changes after quitting. My head feels different, it no longer vibrates, my dizziness has greatly improve, my overall feels different.
I have more money which I invest in better foods and exercise equipment.
What motivated me was,,, one night while on er, a lady there was coughing horribly, I told something to a nurse and she replied that nothing could be done because she is a smoker. Its horrible to hear someone coughing, gasping for air, sounds like phlegm that never comes out.
A month or so prior to that my dad was hospitalized for a week, he smokes two packs a day. I saw him desperately trying to go downstairs to smoke, someone to take him many times a day. He is a veteran, that staff is great and supportive but smoking is not in their duties.
So after the er incident I decided I never wanted to see myself in either position and I quit. Sept 15,2012. I feel good, im in control,,,, at least smoking is under my control.
Best wishes, yes you can!
If I were to go back today they'd probably want to run a bunch of tests on me and another expensive MRI and frankly, I don't care to put myself through this ever again so no, I don't go there anymore.
My decision and no one else's.
I just hope4acure is what I do!
DX'd in 1995 btw.
