I'm SO tired of taking pain pills !
10 Percocet a day ...yup I run out then get Norco till my next script..
I'm going to ask my doc if I should get one or see a pain specialist.
IF my heart allows it. I Pray it will !
Thanks for the idea!

RE: Morphine.
I took this for quite a long time and did not become "hooked". However, it has some very bad side effects (like severe constipation). It helped to a point (and only to a point) with the pain.
It knocks you out hard at night and you do not move. You often wake up in more pain than you had when you went to bed.
In any event, I quit taking morphine.
I was offered the "pump" and said no when I was told about the risk of infection.
Best of luck with whatever you decide.
First if your a mother, Happy Mothers Day. Being that I have worked in the medical field for years. I would say only you can determine if that would be best for you. If it doesnt work you can always take it out. I would research the Dr that will be putting it in tho. I have seen many patients that it has worked for and done great. Then I have also seen patients that have gotten addicted. Not necessary to the pump but already had the personality of an addict and says they needed the pump along with pills. If it was me and I was in constant severe pain 24/7 ( I do have pain pretty much 24/7 but feel mine is manageable) I would consider doing it. It just the putting a device in the back that I have a hard time dealing with. Thats why I say research the Dr that is putting it in.
It can be great, only you can decide if its for you.
Good Luck

It is less invasive than the baclofen or morphine pump. All run risks of infection.
Addiction is a term that refers to an uncontrollable psychological urge versus habituation which refers to the body being used to using the drug for pain and and having a physiological need for it to continue.
I try to take the lowest dose possible, Oral morphine knocked me out - almost literally. Intrathecal morphine is very different but carries risks. You can learn a lot about these options on the chronic pain board.
