I have a huge problem with short term memory, but a really think it is the Topomax I am on that is causing this problem for me.

I cannot remember simple things like people's names that I am around on a regular bases, names of items I use, places I go too regularly, ect...

I have a lot of problems with memory too - I cant remmeber simple things. I have to write everything at work down now - my boss will tell me to do something and i know it's important and litteraly two seconds later I have totally forgotten what I was supposed to do - irritating and embarrassing.

I asked my dr. about this at the last appointment. His response was that MS shows up differently in people, but memory loss is something most people complain about. I was able to tell my family that I now have a doctor's excuse for forgetting. Post it notes are my best friend.

This is where neuropsych test helps a lot. It tells where your memory is bad or good. It told me my auditory memory was not great but visual memory was normal. Writing a list really helps for me. Just writing it down helps me remember.

I know this problem well, I found that I have to go slower, and take my time, when it comes to spelling or typing here on the internet, I also have to take nemanda for memory loss, i found when i get in a hurry, i make alot of mistakes, all i can recommend is slow down and take your time.

My short term memory is gone too Yes thank goodness to write everything down now. I have a book that I carry everywhere with me.

Although it is a rare person over 60 who can easily remember names of people and other proper nouns, I think (not sure!) that I am very deficient in this area due to the MS. A couple of people (a co-worker and my brother) get realy annoyed when I ask them to repeat the name of a person, etc. Not nice! Nevertheless, this would be my least worrisome symptom. In addition to writing all appointments, due dates, etc right away in a small calendar, I use sticky notes, colored index cards, and leave messages on my voice mail :)

Wonder how many of those reading this, have been tested for CCSVI.
Found to exist in many people with MS, this is narrowed veins & causes cognitive disfunction. Improper blood flow to the brain & iron deposits.

I spend half of my day looking for thigs that I can't locate.
Was found to have 4 of 5 veins narrowed in fall 2009. Have had MS for 30yrs now.

Mostly trouble with people's names......even people I see often and work with. People seem to know and jump in to help. Can't learn new things as fast.....especially technology.

I have had a terrible time with my memory. My psychitrist thinks it might be due to the major depression. I have had to start having someone help me to take my morning or evening meds. UGH!!
