Hi everyone,
I haven't been around in a while. I've given up on my quest to get a diagnosis so I don't feel like I should be hanging around here using up other people's time.
Anyway, on to the reason I'm here today. My fiance does have an MS diagnosis. We moved to Grand Junction, CO about a month ago. We are having a terrible time getting him into a doctor. None of the family practice or internal med docs in town are accepting new patients (especially patients with Medicare and Medicaid) so he can't get a primary care doc. None of the neurologists in town will see him without a referral from a primary care doc, even with a referral from the ER to neurology. He is already a month late for an infusion that he is supposed to get on a monthly basis but he can't get it without someone local to prescribe it. Does anyone have any suggestions to get him in to someone and get him back up on his medications?

When I moved to florida I had just the opposite problem. No one would take my private insurance, only medicare/medicaid. I asked several of the doctors offices I called and finally got stuck with the new doc in town for my PCP. As for the neuro, can his old neuro call in a referral? That's what mine did when I moved.

Have you tried calling up your local NMSS chapter to see how to handle the medical care policies in your area?? They might have a database of primary doctors and can help advocate for your fiance to get in so he can stay on track with his infusions. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

im with julz on this one...i think that would be your best solution...i am hopefully about to move to a new city next month and again will face the same old issue of no family dr... i am going to call the ms society and see who is dealing with ms patients in that town...i think it will be the best way of getting a family dr....

we are in ontario canada and have government health care just like everyone else...and have been without a regular family dr now for a little over a year...sigh...and at this moment are looking at moving 6 hours a way and having to keep the dr that we have been using down here...who is actually a foot dr. who took us on temporiarly as we cant get another dr where we are moving...number one as there is a shortage of dr.s everwhere..and number two...becasue i have two chronic illness's no one will take me on...sigh...

there seems to be no money in being a family dr. anymore so everyone is going into specialty medicine now adays...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
