ok guys, I need some hugs and prayers today! I have been dealing with anxiety for about 8 yrs now and getting the MS on top of it has been the worst hell I have ever been through. I actually have been doing very well lately, selling stuff on ebay, keeping the house clean getting out, ect.
I have been doing well with my Betaseron shots even though they are making my hair thin. I haven't had any problems lately (knock on wood) I'm scared to death to brag, but my eyes are better and I don't have any numbness, just pain in my back and spine when I over exert, and as always fatigue.
But I don't know if you gals out there feel worse or have more problems when you are on or getting ready to start your montly, but I tend to be worse and have more anxiety around that time. Like I said I have been doing pretty well lately aside fom stressing about financial stuff, but yesterday when I woke up my anxiety was crazy and my stomach went all haywire and I was having to make a mad dash to the bathroom most of the day. I had at least 2 full blown panic attacks! Then to make it worse the nerves in my feet started burning and you know, doing that vibrating thing and are still doing it.
The thing I'm scared of is I am on 10mg of Lexapro, and I have .5 of KLonopin for when needed. I also take Ambien so I can sleep and I know now I am dependent on it cause I was given it when I was taking the steroid treatment and I have been taking it ever since. UMM, 6 months now I believe, and now it still makes me feel great after I take it it gives me a drunk like feeling and makes all the anxiety go away. I have always been a night person but instead of going to bed since I feel so "good" I want to stay up all night and do things, and then sometimes I can't remember some things I even did the next day! Anyone else on Ambien too?
Anyways, sorry I wrote a freakin book but I'm having one of those desperate days and I am going to try and ween off the Ambien and take a bit more of my Klonopin to tame this damn anxiety down, I'm hoping this is just a hormonal PMS thing but it kind of came out of the blue when I thought I was coming to more acceptance with the MS and doing better then my feet started to vibrate I guess it's scaring me and I know I have to realize that these kind of symptoms are going to come up from now on but it is HELL when you have anxiety cause you freak over every little wierd twinge with your body!! Ok, I'm gonna shut up now, just needed to vent and get my mind occupied for a little bit! Thanks for listening and lots of hugs and prayers would be appreciated!!!!

Don't try to adjust your meds without advice from your doc. You don't want to end up with more of a problem than you started with.
I see many folks here trying to play doc, never seen it end up very well. Just not a smart idea.
Instead of posting here, you should have called your doc's office.
She is on a low dose estrogen patch. I was also an beta which doesn't help.
I'm fiancially challenged so no prescription mds for it. I stopped drinking caffinated coffee. Drank decaf for a while & now just water.
I take 1-2 benedryl tablet at night frequently & sometimes during the day, they make me sluggish. Sometimes up to sominex at night for sleep & I wake sluggish. So the anxiety doesn't start until later in the morning :)
Being mobility challenged absolutely does not help with anxiety, where a walk or run helped me deal with it before.
I also need to feel that there is some kind of predictibility to my MS...I've had MS messageboard support people tell me I'm foolish, ms isn't predictable I just have to accept.
I get FLAMING ANGRY AT THOS A* HOLES.
I understand virtual reality...it might not be reality but it is the reality I live in and in an F* them. It's my reality.
I charted my MS episodes for the last 19 years, even when I wasn't diagnosed to try to see a pattern in MY MS.
I also, every morning chart a fatigue level, that I created. Three numbes. 1- cognitive & vision, 2- hands 3- legs & continence. 555 is baseline. Below 5 is better than baseline. Above 5 is worse than baseline.
It makes me feel in control to have a past list of fatigue levels & helps me understand that today isn't forever. Sometimes it's better sometimes it worse.
That HELPS ME DEAL WITH IT, ME! ME! ME! And you know what to them when they tell me I can't do it.
Can I suggest hypnosis for you anxiety problems-you may just find that it helps. I too used to suffer anxiety problems but not so much now.
Good luck and our thoughts are with you.
So, DSLynn being on Beta makes the monthly time worse? I think that must be my case, cause I am a freaking wreck around then well actually its always before and then right before I start I get to fatigued I almost lapse into a coma!! Also, I know what you mean about needing to know the progression of what the MS is going to do to you! I'm a control freak and it's killing me to NOT KNOW whats gonna be next. Mabey I should try the Hypothearpy or somthing. Thanks you guys! I am feeling better! Now if I could just eat somthing!!!!! Hugs to all!!!
