I was recently dx with either primary or secondary fibromyalgia ( secondary meaning I may have another primary cause for my symptoms, and primary meaning it is the cause of my symptoms , I am explaining it cause I never heard of it termed that way)doc says cant rule out anything at this point and started me on Lyrica. I was hoping someone who has taken lyrica can tell me about their experience with it. it is also used to treat MS. Thanks in advance!

Hi I have been On lyrica for almost 2 months. It seems to be okay, I am not sure how well it works for me only because I was on oral steroids and then IV 'roids, but before that it seemed to do the trick,no harsh side effects either which is always good when taking a new med. hope this helps a little. I am only on my 2nd week. Started it & Tegretol at the same time so not sure if sleepiness is from one or the other.

Only reason I am on it is I refused to take Neurontin any longer. Not working on seizures & dry mouth is unbearable. Been on it for 13 years.

I have taken Lyrica in the past It made me drunk as a skunk for the first week, but it really helped my neck problems.

Lyrica has been a wonder drug for me. Like Kelly I was on Neurotin since 2001 and nothing they had me up to 4800mg a day??? Now am on 200mg of the lyrica 3 X day and it works for me.

I was on Lyrica for several months. Eventually stopped taking it due to weight gain and some side effects it was having on my eyes (since I have optic neuritis too, didn't need more eye trouble). Other than that though, it worked great and I found that it really helped.

I was taking 100 mg three times a day. I dropped back to twice a day because I couldn't focus at work. It works okay but not great at this level. I didn't want to take neurontin. Lyrica was developed specifically for neuropathy. I didn't know you could take more than 400 mg a day though.

That drug made me so woozy and in a fog, I couldn't funtion..Now tryinh cymbalta.

I have been taking it for 4 weeks, and LOVE IT. It seems to really be helping the leg numbness "seizures" I was having. I just take 100mg, at night. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for your input. been almost a week now, time to up my dosage, which should be absolutely fine cause the other night I messed up and took it twice (oops) and felt pretty good the next day! LOL... glad I found something to help so quick.I was afraid , at first. that it would make me gain weight when in fact , it has killed my appetite. yeah!
