My Dr just diagnosed me last Thursday with this condition. it causes a distinct purple patterning either on arms or legs that can be painful. Mine is located on my lower legs and has caused painful swelling. This condition is caused by a reaction to interferon or the drug amantadine. So sorry to hear! I haven't heard of this but every one presents differently! Hope you find relief!

I took amantadine about 2 years ago and had the same reaction to my arms and legs. I didn't have any pain or swellen with it but the discoloration brought many questions by other people and I got tired of explaining it. I also had other side effects like severe night sweats from the meds so I changed to something else.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
