I recently tried lexapro for my anxiety.. I honestly didn't give it much time, because it made me feel very nauseous. I think I gave it 4 days and decided I couldn't handle that side effect. The doctors say it goes away with time and that it takes a while to work. I'm sure it's different for everyone. And it's supposed to work very well.

I have never taken it, but know people who have. It does work from what I have seen, but it does take a little time to kick in.

lexapro i ttook it and it also made me sick along with cymbalta had to be taken off them both by docs choise now on prozac and i have had no side affects yet ! seem to be working.

I have been on it since August and I really like it, but I haven't had any of the side affects. It seems to be working for neuros nurse too she used always seem uptight and unapproachable then these last couple of times I seen her she is definately in better spirits when she asked me how I was doing on Lexapro and I told her how I was she then told me its been working wonders for her too. :o)

I've been on Lexapro for about 2 years. I love it and it has helped me a lot and a plus it didn't make me gain weight!! The doctor told me I could go off it, but I said no right now as I'm still dealing with crap.

i couldnt take lexapro or cmybaltra. they both made me sick on my stomach and groggy. the only antidepressant i have taken is an older one called doxepin which stops the itching spells i have. i take it at night so i can function at my job.

sorry i forgot to add. for the anxiety i have in the daytime i take xanex which has worked very well in my high stress life. bless you

I have been on Lexapro for over a year. I like it. It has really helped with my anxiety. I have not had any side effects from this drug.

I have been on Lexapro for at least 6 years. I was officially diagnosed in 2001. I was extremely depressed, anxious even paranoid for several years. Lexapro was the first anti-anxiety/depression med I was given. After a few years (after I lost my job and had trouble getting SSD and worse yet I had to live with my sister and her husband) I was soooo depressed I told my Doc "I needed more drugs'', I was so tired of being depressed. He added Effexor. This lifted the cloud and worked for about 4 years. Now I am feeling so much better. I still take Lexapro and occasionally Lorazepam.
so I don't know what will work for you, we are all different but it seems to work for me. I am not ready to stop it yet. I believe MS can really throw you for a loop. It changes your life so much it is scary But over time we find a way to deal with the way things are and be happy. I hope you find your way.

My doctor gave me a 2-week supply of Lexapro to try. I stopped taking it after one week. It gave me terrible migraines. Did not stay on it long enough to see if the side effect would work its way out.

I used it for awhile 20 mgs. a day and really at first it worked, but slowing it went away. I am taking Cymbalta now, expensive, and the jury is still out on it.

my mom was given that and when she first started taking it gave her diarrhea and she vomited....so she stopped. She says she rather be depressed/stressed than pooping all the time and throwing up

I take Lexapro (10mg) but as a mood stabilizer........it works well, and my family is thankful........LOL. I have never had any sides with this med..........

I took it for a little over a year and it worked great for me. I did have to get threw the nausea feeling the first 4 to 5 days but after that, no side effects.
I have been off of it for a little over 6 months and doing fine but if I ever need another antidepressant I would not hesitate to take it again.
