Just started Copaxone... Advice?

I just started on the Copaxone this week and with the first injection (in my belly) I got a very large tender lump that lasted all day. The second one (arm) I got a hive-looking bump about an inch away from my injection and tonight (leg) I got a pretty good sized lump . I've tried the heat before/ice after. Does anybody else have suggestions. My autoject is set at a 6. I'm 5'6" and all of about 115 pounds.

Oh, also I do my injection in the morning right after my shower.

hi!! im on it-auto inject- but- lol- no more in my arms!! it hurts!! but we r suppose to!! it hurts!! ha- i go everywhere else!! but my arms arent very big- and dont imagine yours r either!! ha-not tellin my weight!! well i dont no- and havent weighed 4 yrs!! but- i go with a depth of 4- or 3 and a half- no 6-or 8- hugs!!!-oh it still has a bee lump too!!

I have been taking Copaxone for about 3 weeks. I had so much pain from the auto-inject that I switched to manual injections. While the manual injections are much less painful/red/swollen than with auto-inject, it still really hurts. I recommend it over the auto-inject though.

All of my injection sites have now become little red bumps that look AND itch like mosquito bites. Does anyone else experience this? Does it every go away? Thanks guys!

JC-- The itching does get better or at least mine did. Sometimes if I get hot or nervous they all start itching at the same time.. Use a Cortisone cream on them-- helps a lot...

For me it took time for my body to adjust. I would get the big whelps on my arms and thighs about 4 inches in width. I use the ice pack and bought a heating pad for my thighs because they gave me the most trouble. The heating pad helped some but I think it was more my body needing time to adjust. I have been on Copaxone since September and I still get some sight reactions but not nearly as bad as before. I probably took a good 3 month. I started taking the injections in my thighs after a warm bath or shower and it does seem to help. As for the lumps I still get them and they may last a couple of days but they are small. As for the itching benedryl cream helps some. I take my shots in the evening closer to time to go to bed. Hope this helps. It has gotten better for me over time. Hang in there if you can.
