I would say that many times it is just hard for tohrs to discuss it, so if it doesn't come up, maybe just leave it. It embarrasses other people to talk about some things, alot of people do not talk about bodily functions and the control or lack of control of them until they are quite old.
And it is hard sometimes for people to figure the right thing to say..."I'm sorry you peed yoursefl?" People really don't always want to start the conversation because they are not sure where it will go.
Don't apologize, you didn't do anything wrong. I tend to figure it out as needed, but my rule usually is that if nobody says anything abbout an MS thing that happens, I just smile nad do the best I can to act like everything is very normal. I just hate when people get all upset for me.
I don't know, you have to do what is going to help you feel comfortable with an unconfortable situation. But I really just wanted to say from someone who has been there, all the way down to the wet socks, I am really sorry. It sucks.
MS Sucks
Attitude is Everything
I don't know, should I just let her think that I peed myself? Or should I let her know that it is because of MS? She is the most considerate person I have ever known and I just don't know how to handle the situation.
Damn you MS, why can't tampons work for pee?
That's why I don't drink beer, it goes right through me. I love my Red Wine! :)
Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I know, right, on the tampons. The list is long on why pads are horrible, but this is an example of why they are sometimes lifesavers. Just a thought.
If we want people to understand, and accept us with our 'issues' we have to set the bar and accept ourselves.
Part of that is wearing pads or other under garments to handle the problem. This we do out of respect for ourselves, and for others who will be riding that bus, sitting in the same seat after you. Is it far to want people to accept us, and to leave pee for them to sit in?
You don't need to go in great detail with your friend. Nobody wants to listen to great detail anyway. Just tell her bladder issues can be a problem with MS, and you had not realized yours would be a problem after drinking alcohol. Tell her your sorry, and will take steps to not let it happen again. Then laugh, after all, no sense getting all down over something that isn't your fault.
After your chat, suggest you two go out again. Tell her you'll prepare better in the future.
There's no reason to have guilt, or shame because you're having bladder issues. The only thing to feel guilty about was not being better prepared. You can be next time, so no big deal at all!
You still have a life to live, no sense in not. MS doesn't have to limit us, we may have to go about things a bit different. Strive to do all you can, for as long as you can! Don't let the fear of what MIGHT happen, limit you or keep you doing all you can!
Don't worry, every human has done something that has embarressed them. Most of us will do something else. That's just part of being alive.
Good luck to you! Have faith in yourself!
Go see your GP right away because it does not get better.
Good luck with that Smathie
As far as your friend goes, there is nothing wrong with emailing her if that makes you more comfortable. It may make it more comfortable for her as well so she doesnt have to feel the need to hide her reaction. Which will probably be a "im sorry reaction" It happens and sucks but try not to let it get you down. Get checked for a UTI though and I can almost bet that is why it happend.. Good Luck
There is a range of pads you can wear for bladder leak & some can be very thin "pantyliners" well worth the peace of mind in wearing them.
Dont stress about it, do get checked if it happens more often incase of bladder infection or nerve issue & mabe some tablets might help.
