The last coupla days I've had a pain in the neck....Thinking I slept wrong on my neck is what was causing the pain.....Three days later its finally dawned on me that "duh, this could be an MS thing" it still hurts a little after taking Motrin....anyone else experience a pain in the neck (kinda toward the rear of the back of my neck) and its starting to hurt when I swallow...not really like a sore throat? ....Anyone....anyone? :D

I have been having neck pain now for a couple months. MRI came back normal some slight disc issues but thats it. I met with a surgeon who told me that he sees a lot of this with MS patients and there wasn't anything that could be done from a surgery side. My pain doc got me set up with a tens unit that has helped some. It's odd when I turn my head side to side is when it really hurts the rest of the time it feels like a pulling pain. They said I could do shots to relieve pain but the most I could do would be 2-3 injections. Finally I just got to a point where it was like OK chalk this up to another "gift" of MS. So I just moved on the best I could use my tens when needed for pain.

I wish I had a magic cure for you (if you have the same thing I do) but I haven't come across it yet. I would check into a tens unit though it can be helpful.

Yep. Lots of neck pain here. In fact...looking back--- pre-dx, that was my first symptom. (HUG)

Me too neck pain was one of my first, I try to meditate hard with a busy family but relaxation helps me.... if not then I too have a tens machine thingy its like accupuncher helps me heaps

Had neck problems years before my dx, also one of my 1st symptoms. Mri's don't show anything that would cause this kind of pain. Like the rest of you, just another fun MS symptom. :P

THANKS guys! You know most of the time I forget I even have MS until I g thru a whole list of sx's and self dx mainly because I don't wanna be the chick with all the MS crap....so its easier to blame age, menopuse....or even my type 1.5 diabetes.....suck it up Rho....this one belongs to MS......(damn-it!) :-)

I too had a lot of pain in the neck nothing seemed to work ,pills,tens..I was even going to a chiropractors about it ,and I told her about the pain.She sugguested a pillow she sold in her office....I was thinking yea right....it was about 70.00 dollars.....but a few weeks went by with help so I bought the pilliow that was 18 months ago and NO neck pain after a few weeks..It was a really think memory form I have not seen in the box store I have seen them when I was looking for a new mattress.

Yep, neck was/ is my major source of pain =( 3+ years now it's hurt! Grrrr
