I was wondering if any of the Rebif users here have ever gotten an infection at the shot site? The shot I gave myself Monday in the stomach is now very red painfull and every hot to the touch, hot enough to get a reading from my digital thermoneter that is showing fever, move a couple ivhes away where it is not red it don't even pick up any kind of even a low temp. What have you done to help aleve the symptoms. I've never had a reaction little one that is extremely hot to the touch not to also very painfull to the touch. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Yes I did I called rebif line who told me to call the neurologist..he keep a eye on it till it got better ...he had me come in that day to look at it.....Notify your doctor immediately if you have any symptoms of an injection site reaction, and especially if you have pain at the site of the injection.Depending on the cause, injection site reactions may be treated with warm compresses, ice,

I would speak to your doctor as any site infection needs attention.
Worse case scenario is that you can get a very bad infection and need it dealt with.

Also you could contact the drug company. Here in Australia they have assistance for rebif users and are always very supportive.

Call your doc ASAP. In the mean time, can you take a sterile cotton ball and dip the site in either diluted iodine or peroxide

I had this happen twice in the stomach injection sites. I never called the doctor and it got better on it's own.

Not that I'm saying you shouldn't call...you should. I'm just one of those people that doesn't like to call them for every little thing. I'm stubborn like that ;)

Besides, I'm left with scarring now. Maybe if it had been treated properly I wouldn't have those scars.

I've not had any problems with the Rebif. That's sounds more like my reactions to Capoxone. Ice the area and call the doctor and the company. Good luck!!

My infection cleared up, I used peroxide and alcohol than used kenalog cream on it, My first available doctors appt is tomarrow, so instead of the infection I want answers on my fever issues, I've kept a log of my temps and they did a boatload of blood work last time I was there and said things were good. I did notice that the alcohol wipe I used that night seemed pretty dry, so instead of using the alcohol packs they send I'm just using a cotton ball and a bottle of Alcohol from now on and I'm going to skip the stomach area for a few weeks.
I guess I should be happy that after almost a year of the shots this is the only problem I've had besides one red dot once. Thanks for all the replys

Dave,
I don't use my legs due to the reaction I had when I was on the Copaxone.
I do love the Rebif and how I feel on it!

I had infections on my leg and I put neosporin on them twice a day for about three days and they cleared up.
