Then I do my toilet stuff but I def climb back into bed. I spend almost every day in bed propped up on pillows or laying down. So Im with you--feel worthless sometimes. But this is what my body is capable of--very little movement or the pain goes to the extreme and I go to the ER.
I do exercise though! Any little bit of exercise you can stand is healthy! Sitting in a chair lifting a can of veggies is better than doing nothing. Also, the MS society (one of them) will send you a free MS yoga DVD --I have one! Very gentle yoga to help stretch out some of those bed-related cramped up muscles
I like to walk--just a little ways. I worked myself up to 3 blocks there and 3 blocks back--with a rest in between. I don't even have to use my cane that much anymore since starting my supplement regimen, walking and strengthening my legs...
After that I draw or paint most every day all day. Hobbies keep me sane seeing as moving is not my strong suit anymore.
Hang in there!
The first thing I do (whether I like it or not) is wash my old cat's eyes. She has a chronic infection and she cries until you wash her eyes. Then comes me.
The cat is always first! :)
(6 lbs.) and thats how I get moving as I have to take her out. There have been some days that i just couldnt but most of the time i make myself. We due wait a few minutes though after ive had at least my meds and 1 cup of coffee, I just cant spring out of bed and take her out, so after about 30 minutes of being awake I take her out, then im back in bed, with the tv, laptop waiting on my meds to kick in more. I like that idea about taking the meds earlier and then going back to sleep, thats a good idea too. I actually have that MS SOciety dvd about exercising. Shame on me, i havent even looked at it. There are some days, not many though where I can take a Nuvigil and it does a good job of giving me some energy and I can get alot of things done, its almost like some kind of speed. I cant take it everyday, i think its too strong and i do feel a little drugged on it. Thanks for the replies, I do need to start exercising, but im so inconsistant. But I think i really need too since my neurologist told me my upper strength is stronger than my lower body. I was a little surprised to hear that, my arms are now stronger than my legs :(
