I am having the worst week. last friday the hospital called me at 5 am and told me I need to get to the hospital because my dad was about to die... He didn't, but he had to have heart surgery on Tuesday of this week. He has a leaky valve, and half of his heart is dead. He also has a deformed heart... so now I have a family history of heart disease.
on Wednesday I went to see him in the ICU and he thought he was dead. He was convinced he was dead. It scared the shit out of me. He was also green. I go to see him every day because my brother just joined the army and can't get off base and his family has pretty much deserted him. My parents are divorced and my mom has been to see him more than anyone in his family... my mom even brought him to the hospital 1 hour away.
I feel like it is all on me, if I don't go, there might be no one there, and I know how horrible it can be sitting alone in the hospital.
Then today, I stay late at work because my boss needed to be somewhere. So I rush home from work on my bike to go visit my dad in the hospital, and a car cuts me off, I fall, hit my face on the pavement and shatter two teeth.
I just spent 3 hours having them pull pieces of my teeth out. The roots are even broken, so I can't just have a cap, I have to get dentures until my jaw swelling has gone down, and then in a few months I can have a post put in, and a few months past that I can have a tooth put in the post.
Also, I sprained my wrist.
OH and I'm in the middle of a flare where the left side of my face is in excruciating pain and my right hand doesn't want to work.

People will tell you you should avoid such stress and not take it all on. But what can you do? You love them, and have to be there for them.
I hope your dad recovers quickly and you too. Hang in there hon. (((hugs)))

Going through a flare, having had the accident and the terrible affects of having your mouth destroyed, and dealing with your dad. You have your hands full. I'm not a particularly religious person, but I will include you and your dad in my daily prayers. I hope you have someone you can lean on right now. If not, remember your DS friends are here for you. Hang in there smathie! Believe it or not, this too shall pass and you will be the stronger person for it all. You know that you have a lot to deal with in your dad's condition in the coming weeks, and I will pray that you have the strength to handle it all. My thoughts are with you.
The only person that stopped was a bus driver. He pulled the bus over to see if I was ok and if I needed help. At least there are some good people out there
