I only play one on Google. Bear with me folks. I'm sure you've all been here to some extent. "It's not MS. It's anything but MS. I will diagnose myself because these docs are idiots." etc etc. Anyway.....
As I've said a thousand times, I am still undiagnosed. I've been experiencing symptoms for two years now. I originally placed the initiating event as the birth of my daughter but it was only an estimate. I got pregnant in February of 2008, had a baby in November of 2008. Got pregnant again in September 2009 and had my daughter in June 2010. I had my gallbladder removed in October of 2010. Since then I've had severe digestion issues. TMI but I have diarrhea after EVERY meal. It's usually 30 minutes to 2 hours after eating. I go 4 or 5 times a day. I have had this problem everyday for 2 years.
Anyway, my point is, even if it is causing MS, I'm beginning to wonder if I don't have some sort of vitamin absorption issues. I was pregnant back to back with not long enough in between to recoup all of the vitamins lost and then I started having the severe digestion issues....
So far I've only had 3 vitamin tests. My B12 is low normal at 283. My vitamin A (free retinol in the blood caused by liver absorption issues) was high at 104. My vitamin D was low normal at 29. I'm considering asking for more vitamin tests and the follow up to the B12 tests (since low normal can cause symptoms). I'm also considering a visit with a GI doc.
I know it's probably wishful thinking since they found O bands in my spinal fluid but until I get a diagnosis I'm going to keep searching for an easy answer. I only have one tiny nonspecific brain lesion. My cspine MRI was normal. One lesion doesn't seem like "enough" to be causing the vast array of symptoms I've been experiencing. But again, I'm not a doc, I just play one on Google.

This sounds like one of the phases,, denial. Of course your absorption its screwed, it happens in the intestine and diarrhea is preventing it. Vit D is too low, it should be a minimum of fifty.
My daughter s and my lesions dont seem that important, but sx are considerable.
Make peace with ms, so you can move forward.

But I am concerned with indigestion problems. This could be something other than MS. I know someone whose doctor thought it was MS and it wasn't. She had something serious. In fact, I know 2 people who had that problem. It was NOT MS.
You may have MS but please eliminate everything about the severe digestion issues. This should not be happening. PLEASE GET THIS CHECKED ASAP. I IMPLORE YOU. GET IT CHECKED OUT.
a good neuro told me once that MS should mostly be dxd by what the patient reports and then supported by MRI. so clear MRIs not an indication of no MS.
Jessica, you gotta have your digestive system checked, there are some good doctors out there, you just have to keep searching.
1. I was super positive for O Bands in my spinal tap. (but negative for protein)
2. The symptoms that lead me to my neuro were a 6th and 7th cranial nerve palsy. (Internuclear Opthalmoplegia and Bells Palsy). The 6th nerve palsy is pretty specific to MS in younger people.
On the other side of things, my grandfather had Bell's Palsy when he was about my age. They never investigated it further. Now he has Alzheimers. It runs in my dad's side of the family. I called my dad last night and told him to start taking B12, immediately if not sooner.
Anyway, guess I'll see what the new neuro has to say about all this. 6 more days!!! So weird to be excited about a doctor's appointment....
And, I understand feeling excited about a dr appt., because since I'm undiagnosed, I just want to get into an MS specialist already and get some kind of help. I cannot get in until March....ugh!
