How will Avones work if I am very thin?

After an itchy skin reaction to a Rebif shot one month ago, my neurologist is thinking I might have an easier time on Avonex. My problem is that I am very small, most of my injections sights have hard lumps and makes injecting difficult. My other problem is I don't have a ton of muscle either. I was wondering if the Avonex shots do not cause hard lumps under the skin and would it really be easier than the Rebif? And what does it do to your muscles? Does it do damage to them, long term? I'm 5' 4'' and 106 lbs, so as my doc said, I don't have a ton of real estate. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I do manual injections. Is that how you have to do the Avonex? Has anyone done both and how did they compare for you- shot wise and disease wise. And how were your reactions to it? I've only been on the 22mg dose of Rebif so it will be just slightly more per shot of the Avonex. I've never had a reaction to it, does that mean the Avonex would be the same? Thanks

Everyone is different, although I as orgininally put on avonex. Well the shots hurt and left big lumps for me (lasted about week and 1/2, glad I moved them around. My problem with avonex was the side effects. Had to take tylenol before i took the shot, before i went to bed then immediately when i got up every week otherwise i would have the chills so so bad. But then after i was on avonex for about 2 months, i would take my shot friday night around 6pm saturday morning would get up and could hardly walk, then by time it was sunday it would be better.. so my weekends sucked, then monday back to work.

I know everyone is different just my history, then i was sent to cleveland clinic and they had me start copaxone.. no side effects nothing, just had to take shot every day, but the alternative..

Avonex was the first med I tried. I took tylenol etc 30 mins before the injection but I found that I didnt need it really.

I used an ice pack that I got from the pharmacy when picking up the Avonex and sat it on my leg where I was injecting while I was mixing the meds (they had to be mixed before). Id move the ice pack around slightly but it numbed me so much that I didnt feel the injection nor did I bleed or get any sores.

I think maybe through 2 yrs on it I got bruised 3 times if that.

Oh, also, Im thin as well. If your neuro thinks you can do it and the nurse that has to come to the house to teach you thinks its ok, then go for it

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
