I am new here. So, i don't know if i can offer much. But, i, too, get heart flutters. Feels like butterflies in my chest. Lasts about 30 seconds, and i get some shortness of breath with it. I went to the ER about 2 years ago for it. It didn't do it while i was there, so they sent me home.

Kept happening. I ignored it. Then, when i was diagnosed in december with ms, they told me it was related to one of my lesions, as well.

When it happens to me, i just calmly tell myself it will be over very soon and close my eyes and kind of meditate until it passes.

Hi, same here, I just lay down and relax because it'll last only a few minutes. I haven't pursue any more tests, because of fear or lack of interest. My Dr said is caused by anemia.

I'm wondering if your recent heart problem(s) are somehow related to the steroids you just got off of?

I'm not a doctor, I do not pretend to be one but I sure hope that you follow up on this and find out exactly what is going on.

I tend to think that a person's heart would not be affected by MS but you never know being it is such a very confusing illness!

Hi Carolina,
Maybe these flutters were a blessing in disguise as the testing showed blockage and might have saved you from having a heart attack, from the blockage. I had a heart attack at 35 and that sucked. I've had 6 caths and while they are in there they will put a stent in most likely to open the blockage and if that happens and you get the proper blood flowing again, most people say they have more energy.
As of my last MRI I only had brain lesions and it has affected my respirtory, I don't have sleep apena but I still have to use a cpap because my breathing is affected by MS, Sleep Study said I stopped breathing 53 times an hour.
Good luck with the cath and it is great they found the blockage before something happend.

I have them as well but I have MVP ..mitral valve prolapse...sometimes it acts up more then other also I have hypothyroidism and when my medication need adjusting it also effects the fluttering...

Wow thanks for the topic as I to have had these flutters lately and the doctor said it's nothing to worry about didn't realize it was possibly related to my M.S. that helps me a great deal P.S. My name is Nancy and I am new here when I was diagnosed at 14 my mom told the Dr. he was a quack and told me not to think about it ever again. at 50 now been under Dr.s care for over 3 years and grateful for it was on Copaxone for treatment till I had an allergic reaction now just treating it naturally as best I can. Thankful for very few lesions and for being in remission at this time:)

hi!! relax!! yes they do millions of stents! if blocked- u will be out the next day- id go- to specialist- but id go!!!! hugs!!
