oh my god, i'm soooooo frustrated and bitter right now. i just need to vent and i know all of you wonderful people will understand.

i met my neurologist in january and was told i had to have another mri and a follow up appt. that's fine. well, i had to wait six months to get the mri and the follow up appt, which was to be last week.

unfortunately, this fell on the only week i could take a vacation, so i rescheduled for this week. or so i thought. i've been pumping myself up for the last week for what the result will be, and researching different meds. i called the neuros office today to confirm my time, and was told that they had NO RECORD of my rescheduling. and i KNOW i did.

so, i was told to call back every week to book a time for any cancellations they may have had. and the next available appt i could get was for January. yup, another wonderful six months away.

fuck everything today.

I know what you're talking about! I thought doctor's offices are supposed to call YOU when they have an earlier opening?

i knew as soon as i started reading your post that you were from canada...grin... call your local mp's office hon..and explain your issue...than make sure that you call and put yourself on the cancellation list for the mri...sigh...then keep calling the mp's office...tell them that at this point you want a different neuro as you dont feel you will get an unbiased dx from this one...or go through your family dr and talk to him/her and ask for a different neuro?? for the same reasons???

ok, things are all better! i guess me being upset and crying on the phone with the receptionist paid off. or they just realized that they screwed up. they called two hours after i talked to them and told me i could come in next week.

and they did this about five minutes before my fiance called to get the phone number so he could call.

so, that's good!

Sorry. I cant be of no help but this is common. I had ten years of this crap-and still fighting it. HUGZ!!! best of luck

At the V.A. you better not call in and reschedule....Trust me...They will punish you with a long wait either to see them or in the waiting room or both.

was it your cel phone? Maybe you can check your phone records, bring them in and question their record keeping system...?

Good luck..I hate all that drama scheduling appointments....

I used to manage a medical practice. You need to call back and ask for the manager, practice administrator, whatever they call themselves. In a calm way, explain in detail what happened and hopefully you can remember who you talked to when you called to cancel. Tell him/her that you take your healthcare very seriously and you would not be a "no show" and that you absolutely did call and re-schedule. Stay calm as best you can. This is the best way I know how to rectify the situation. GOOD LUCK
