I only recently heard somebody else attribute their hearing loss to MS. He wears hearing aids but has been able to turn them down X4 after stem cell trtmt for MS in May of '08, so he just went back for more stem cells geared specifically for hearing (I'm not yet clear on how the trtmt was altered just to address the hearing) ~ anyway, it's too soon to know if he's going to get more improvement but we're all hoping he does.

Was it your neuro or an ENT that Rx'd Prednisone?

Oh, I have hearing loss from tinitus. I do not know if it is MS connected, but sometimes if feels like it is reverberating through my head, even changing as I move my head. But that is it... OH, long ago when I stopped taking paxil, it got real loud for a while but then simmered down to my usual..

I have heard people say it has caused hearing loss.
What I have found is that I cant hear in noisy places, dont hear people at all unless they get my attention first. can sometimes hear something but not the words. Very hard to explain to people who think I am ignoring them too. Also hard at work where often they will say heads up all & then start talking about something & then they yell at me as I havent stopped what I am doing. Noticed it more after last relapse (feb), was hoping it would settle but hasnt. Thinking I may need to get hearing checked but dont want to add one more thing. denial - yep, thats me till I have to do something about it.

I know there has been some controversy over whether hearing loss is an MS thing. I do find myself asking people to repeat quite a bit and I do know that I have minimal hearing loss in my left ear. When I hear a loud siren, I stick my finger in my good ear.... Not the worst thing in the world.

It was an ENT that prescribed the prednisone

I have had to ask people to repeat themselves at times, but my brain is always trying to install things people say, so I dont know if I have a hearing problem or a brain problem. I need more time to tink that one over.
