Hey everyone,
i'm so new to the whole MS thing and just wanted some advice and info on how you all handle stress.
I just got engaged last week. really good, exciting, fun news. but, i won't lie, there is potential for it to be stressful as hell. last night i was feeling stressed anyway. my man really wants a winter season wedding, which is great, but we're both thinking november. meaning THIS november. and i've never planned a wedding before, but planning one for about 180 people in five months doesn't sound like good times to me. maybe i'm wrong there.
i know the whole process is supposed to be fun and i shouldn't let small stuff bother me, which i won't. i know once a venue is found, the hard part may be over, but i'm a little worried about my MS. i'm already feeling more tired the last three days then i have in a couple of weeks. i'm a little freaked that i'll have an attack doing all of this, as i'll be pushing myself kind of hard.
so, any advice on how to deal with stress? and i know it's different for everyone, but what are some of the signs you have that something is just TOO much?
Thanks!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I was married in a November wedding and it was great. However, we did a much smaller event. Basically we were married at our local courthouse by a judge that's a family friend. His secretaries took pictures! The whole thing took 20 minutes, including exchanging pleasantries, the ceremony, and the filing of the paperwork. A week later we had a huge party for all of our friends and family. We ate barbecue and drank beer. We had the party in an old 1880's bank building. It was a blast! IMHO way better than the actual church type wedding. It cost us $600 total. We didn't start our life with any debt. The only thing I would have changed would be to hire a professional photographer. You'll have to keep us posted on all of the details!
As far as the stress thing goes, I personally love yoga. Even when I'm inconsistent with my practice (like now), I still hold on to the breathing techniques that are central to all types of yoga. I find that it really helps! Try a gentle yoga class. You'll spend about 10-15 bucks per class, which isn't bad if you don't go very often. I'm happiest and most relaxed when I'm doing yoga. You could also go the pharmaceutical route! It's nice to know it's there when you need it.
Make a list of things that need to be done, most important first, then #2, #3, ect. Be honest with yourself you may not get it all done in one day, allow extra time for that fact. Don't put extra stress on yourself by putting more in a day than you really can do. Don't beat yourself up if you don't get as much done as you wanted.
This really helps me because I don't forget important things. If I win the energy lottery that day, it's easy to see what the next important thing is. It's also easy for me to stagger "high" energy chores with "easy or light" energy chores. This has really been a big help for me. One of the best gifts ever given me was a really cute dry erase board for my fridge. Silly I know, but that person put a lot of thought, love, and understanding in that gift.
Good luck & congrats! ! !
