Hey everyone,
I have a couple of MRIs on Wednesday night, one for my head and one for my spine. I wasn't injected with Gadolinium with my first MRI, but will be this time.
I've done some reading on it, and i know you can feel sick after, and i'm just curious how many of you were. I know it isn't nearly as bad an an iodine based dye, but since it's a little later on Wednesday night, i was debating if i should take Thursday off of work?
Any input is helpful! thanks!

I always tried to have my MRIs late in the afternoon so I could sleep after but haven't really found it necessary.

I've never felt bad afterwards. I think that most people are fine. You may want to take off work just in case, but than again you may need a day for when your ms is acting up. I had quite a few mri's with the gadolinium and always was fine afterwards.

It's rare, but a very few people have an allergic reaction. I wouldn't worry about it all. You'll do fine. A good friend of mine has done MRIs for almost 20yrs, she's never had a patient have an allergic reaction. Rest easy, almost all centers that do MRIs have medicine to give you if you do have a reaction.

The thought made me sick! No reaction at all.

I have had a lot of MRI's with Gad. When they have my head out of the tube I have then just open up the face piece while they inject me. It makes me feel better incase I feel sick. I promise that I will not move my head. That said, I have not gotten sick. I have had a problem with the contrast from CT scans but never with Gad. It is very tolerable and leaves the body quickly. Drink lots of fluids after to flush it out. Good luck.

I was fine. Wife is allergic to iodine and she was fine with gad also, she had MRI for knee surgery.

I never had a problem with the dye. I have had numerous MRI with the contrast dye.
