One of her carers has been killed in the floods & another local as well.
It is getting worse for sure here.
We have been having a lot of heavy rain here too which makes it hard on the scooter. City areas are ok thankfully.
The temps are in high 20's & humidity is about 85% so playing havoc with ms symptoms too. Have got a horrid band of tingles/tightness around forehead which wont go away. Not allowed to be anything as we go on holidays beginning feb with a 23 night cruise.
Hugs to all,
Sue
There are total families missing as well as lots of individuals unaccounted for.currently there are 15 confirmed dead but it will unfortunately rise.
Homes are under water right up to eaves right through the suburbs & areas. It is absolutely horrifying to watch.
It is going to take weeks/months before some people can go back to their homes & business. There are thousands in the evacuation centres with a lot only have the clothes on their backs.
There is now real threat of disease as well with the river/flood waters there is rubbish, the size of boats, water tanks, & furniture as well as anything the water has picked up on its way. There could be sewerage in the water & they are trying to get people to stay out of it. Of course some are trying to get back to their homes to see if anything left & the water is right up their necks when they walk or in other areas boat access is the only way too.
It is a terrible time & the people there are of course stressed, traumatised & dont know what if anything they have left. They are also fearful about others that are missing too.
Your prayers are appreciated.
Best regards,
tt
It hasnt got as much publicitiy but other parts of Australia are also suffering with floods. They are not as sudden as Qld was so most are getting some warning & some are able to save things in advance, others are not that lucky. There are a lot of towns in Victoria that are getting flooded & losing everything, some of these towns were flooded back in September so only just got themselves back together. & been inundated again & worse this time. Some towns have not been flooded for more than 200 years.
It is still going now, there are towns that are cut off, split in two with no contact to others. No electricity, food, sewerage etc.
They will rebuild but it will take time for sure.
Please keep all of Australia in your prayers as we have sure got some horrible things happening, there are floods in Qld, parts of NSW & Vic & there were bushfires over the other side of Australia in Perth. I think they are out now. There is a lot of needs there all over the country with a lot of people having lost everything.
Thanks for following our devastation too.
