Awe Oleblue so sorry to hear your sick. I had headache and eyes hurt, skin felt like high fever (but nothing), and told hubby I felt like truck hit me. Slept most of sunday and Monday and the fatigue was nothing I ever experienced before. Tues. I tried to do my exercises and couldn't lift my left leg off the bed, felt like it weighed aton. Hope this is just a bug you have, but if it persists please go to the ER.

Mother comming out in me here, "please don't sit out by a campfire". I see you live in MI, I'm in Ohio, the weather here is damp and sooo cold... you will make yourself so sick dear.

I hope it's just a bug, but sounds like a flair to me from what I've learned on DS.

For crying out loud Dave, I hope by now you are feeling a little bit better and if not, your butt better have been on the phone to the neuro right now, or in the ER if need be. Knock it off, you know better than this and it's HIGHLY unlikely a pseudo flair..... if you don't get in there for steroid treatment you run the risk of permanent damage. I'm praying for you and waiting to hear from you and that things have calmed down!!!

a pseudo flare doesn't last as long as you have been affected by these symptoms. And, a phsudo flare goes away when the thing that is causing it (like raising your core body temp) goes away (like when you take a shower, your symptoms come back, then after about an hour or two, they go away). I hope I'm explaining this to you well.

As I mentioned in our IM yesterday, pain behind the eyes is not a good thing, and is a symptom of ON. that is what scares me the most, is the pain behind your eyes.

Please, if your neuro doesn't call you first thing Monday morning, call them and tell them that this is an emergency and that you need to speak with someone immediately. If your symptoms become too discomfortable, consider going to the ER for treatment.

Your body is definately talking to you and your symptoms are not to be ignored. Pain comes to all of us, suffering is optional. Let us know what happens with all this.

to me it sounds like it would be a flair, not really sure exactly what a flair is. i told the nurse that i feel bad almost every day , some days i just feel worse and she said those would be the days that i am having a flair ?

Thanks everyone, woke u with the headache again and eye pain but not as bad as yesterday, today I will use tired as fatigue is much worse as we all know and just mild body pain, I'm bummed my neuro did'nt call and I relly liked him so much but when you have to go through the nurse you don't know if is aware of anything but I will bring it up when I see him next time which should be soon as because it has been a year and when I saw the changes to my Medicare policy that was enough stress for 3 people my MRI goes from $35 to $125 so there won't be many and this month has been a year so time for a new one anyways. Well hope is well for the rest of you and after a boatload of i need, need need this morning I slept most of the afternoon so I can at least see the start of the Bon Fire, I just skipped the smoking of food I do every year and they will just have to eat off the grill.

Oleblue.....I hope you are feeling better by now. I haven't had Internet all day, so I will check my messages too. I am worried about you though...glad you didn't overdo it on participating in the bonfire. If you call your neuro's after-hours number, they should put you though to the neuro on call even if it isn't him, and then you have a contact to mention when/ if you need to goto ER. That's what I had to do --twice actually, so you can go to ER and say the neuro on call told me to come to ER, and then they take you more seriously. I'm just catching up with you though after a whole day has gone by, so I'm praying you didn't need the ER and you started feeling better:? HUGS!

Hope you get to enjoy the bonfire for a bit and head to bed. Sometimes you really need to advocate for yourself and if that means being a pain in the butt, then so be it. There is no reason whatsoever that the neuro office isn't contacting you back unless they don't understand how serious this is. Please don't wait, and go ahead and be a pain in the butt...... those docs are getting paid for it! Take care!

Ok I did play stupid today and went through with the bon fire, feel free to tell me how stupid I was but this is a big deal to me to spend time with my kids and meet new friends. I just got in from a half a** cleanup had to put the pricey things up as there are people I never trust. The good thing about tonight was my kids unlike my wife get it when I'm having problems and tonight was a good education for a lot of people and getting the you look fine thing. For a bunch of kids in the mid 20's they all sat down for a bit with me and asked questions about MS and we got rid of a lot of misinformation and I was impressed that they listend to what I had to say and how it affects everyone different, and when a few of them said we're sorry we did'nt know what you people with MS go through it was enough to make me cry. As the night went on it was getting harder for me to get around and than there was more eduction on how I don't want to be treated like a cripple just with respect. I don't know yet how this will turn out for me but to help people undestand will be worth it. I was also almost brought to tears when my kids were explaining MS to some of their friends and they have obvious been doing some research on MS and made me so proud of them it was hard for me to get my head through the door as it was swelled with pride. I had no idea they were looking things up without asking but had enough of the MS lingo downn to be dangerous. You would almost have to experience it to know the feeling and am sure some of you have. I did get a lot of sleep this afternoon and made some good friend and even met some people who had family members with MS but were embarrased to ask them about it so they knoe better now and I made it clear everyone has their own path to take. I had some bad times tonight but I would do it over again if even 1 person caught on. Ok time for bed and to those who read this short book thank you so much, I am beyond whipped and am finally going to bed so if I'm gone a day or so all I can say its a warm feeling inside to help someone understand what we go through on a daily basis. Also no word from neuro yet and that bums me out

i hope you feel better....fatigue is a major problem for me also and sometimes it can signal a flair for me...I would check with your neuro..good luck.

That sounds wonderful that you may have reached some people, I also understand about wanting to still do the special things with your kids. I know that it can be hard for the kids to try and explain to their friends what is going on. I have not sat down with mine and explianed everything, but I see alot of their friends asking what is wrong with your mom. I try to step in and explian it in simple terms, they are 5-6 year olds and 9-10 year olds, so I do not know what they will understand.

I get that as well, the headache with the eyes hurting, I hope it is getting better for you!

I'm feeling better as it seems things are easing up a bit, I think that the best thing I did was to just lay down for the day. I think I have a sinus infection and that is what is causing these problems so I called my doc for a script and I think once I get the infection under control things will get better. I am worried with the flu and cold season coming on as I seem to catch whatever walks by me and being on Rebif I wonder if that will affect the way my body fights off the normal things like colds flu and things like sinus infection. I guess I'll just be extra careful this year and get me some of those face masks for going out when people seem to be sick and my wife works at the hospital and what a great place to pick up things. I'm proud of you Dave for sharing your information with your kids' friends. People aren't educated and have very little understanding, so it is soooo helpful when we take the time to explain it to them and let them know we are the same people but our bodies have betrayed us and so we have things to deal with even though we don't LOOK sick. Very proud of you!

Dave, thats great that you were able to educate people through your pain & I am sure you were proud of your kids too.
Sometimes we have to push through for special times with family too.
