Hello everyone,
Hoping to find everyone well. This question pertains to everyone who is on a med that fever is a side effect. If the med that you are on and it gives you a fever can it also cause a flair, big or small? Most of us knows what heat does to our body and I know while I'm awake I can control my body temp even if it means a cool bath or shower, but what if one comes on while you are sleeping and as some of us do take something to help sleep and we get the fever and our core temps are up for several hours?
My last Flair was brought on by a infection in my chest big enough to be seen on a regular Xray and for those of us that run low body temps it can hide it for a while.
I posted about my Rebif giving me a fever but not untill 2 months of being on treatment so I changed shot time to mornings so I could sleep through the fever because it was'nt showing up till 12+ hours later and now the fever seems to be non stop and I have to constantly take OTC's to relieve it. I feel like I'm starting to go into a Flair again, as my double vision buddy showed back up and the fatigue is increasing as well as numbness and my skin feeling like it is sunburnt.
I've went from 97.2 to 100 most days now, I'm just looking for some input about the possibility of getting a Flair. I hate to think the med that is supposed to help me is going to hurt me and I really want to make the 4 month time frame when the side effects are supposed to stop but this flu like symptoms is starting to wear me down.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
If it helps, I took the arthritis strength Tylenol. It lasts a full 8 hours, sometimes more for me. Extra strength only lasts 4-6 hours. By taking the arthritis 20 min before injection, I was able to get through a full days work, or a nights sleep.
If I were you, I'd call the help line for your med. They may have some tips to help you. Are you sure you don't have a slight infection going on some place? Some UTI don't have much of any symptom at all, same for some respiratory infections.
Sending good thoughts your way friend!
What I've heard is that fever and side affects from meds bring on what they call a pseudo flair or exacerbation.
I agree with Lila - give a call to the nurses at MS Lifelines and see what they recommend for you.
As for me, I have stopped taking MS meds since January - I was sick of feeling sick. That was my personal decision though.
Hope you find what works for you! :)
