Which are you? I'm just wondering if all people with MS are introverts.

Its a funny strange thing in personality community education even course I have taken, I always test as the highest introvert in the group.

Which is strange because I am often the most outspoken one in the group. I would have thought the most introverted one would jhave been the quietest person, not so.

The way it was explained to me is extrovert & introvert is where a person gets their energy. An extrovert is energized by being with people and often needs to get with people top get out of their "slump".

An introvert needs to spend some time by themselves to "recharge" before being around people.

Is that because I have MS? And what are you? Is introvertism just a personality trait of MS or maybe all chronic illness? I can't imagine anyone dealing with the fatigue of MS being an extrovert.

I would classify myself as introvert. I was only child raised by my mother in a home with my maternal grandparents who were older. Plus I developed diabetes at the age of 9, I can always say I have felt different, was really no one around to hang out with. SO I am so use to being alone in some ways that I actually prefer it at times,I call it ME time it is essential to me.

I used to be a Pervert, then a Prevert, then a Trovert, became an Ex-trovert, but now I'm a

MStrovert and when it's cold or wet outside, I'm an InTrovert

Is that like Type A and B?

I used to walk fast, run fast, drive fast, type fast, think fast, speak fast, act fast.

Now I'm just thankful I can do any walking driving typing thinking speaking and acting. Definitely can't Run any more.

When I used to go shopping with the family they asked me to slow down, was I walking With them or not. Since the 2002 attack I asked them to slow down, so they left me in the dust.

Wow, Lynn, I was always confused by this. I was always the one everyone picked to speak for the group, always had something to say, can't hold my tongue about issues. But I really never felt really comfortable with so much, I would tend to need to be by myself to get things together. So I am definitely an introvert. Thanks for the post.

Actually, it is also interesting that when the doctors have talked to me about becoming isolated, I haven't really seen it as alot of a problem. I have tended to do it on my own on and off. But I guess now that is is more of a forced thing, and I do not have contact at work with people every day, I should notice it more.

well I am an Introvert but I was a sports team captain or team leader or peacekeeper many times...I would also put more time and energy into my personal commitments than the average person...I have too much of what could be classified as a quiet ego...I messed up a good part of my life long before the MS knocked me down many, many pegs...I have never been comfortable in crowds...I like to have 1 or 2 good friends that I'm comfortable with and interested in at the same time...not much of that lately...I don't like being by myself for long stages of time like 3 or 4 days...it's too boring and I like to share my thoughts and try to cimmunicate with others...I like being with people I like a lot...I feel irritated if I have to spend time with people that I find bothersome in some way. how about 50% introverted 20% extroverted and 30% just kinda neutral...

The best part of my life was about 13 and 14 years ago when I would have a little bit of marijuana and I would spend about 3 or 4 hours a day learning how to play the Bass guitar...

At work I am seen as extroverted but I am socially phobic... after reading this post I did a quiz... I come out in the middle. I guess it is totally situational.

Extrovert - ENFJ recharge with people despite the fatigue. No, it's not easy being an extrovert with MS. I've caused myself to have relapses by overdoing it. I'm trying to do better, but it's hard to change who you are.

I Love, Love, Love being around crowds, excitement, action. But, I rest up first and after because I now it will set off all the MS bells and whistles. Long Before MS and kids, I used to sing. I would have to have alone time for hours before hand. (and a drink too!) So I am really not sure what that classifies me as. What do yall' think???
