early symptoms??

Hi, I am wondering if anyone would mind sharing their beginning symptoms of MS and what method of diagnose was used? I have been suspecting I have MS for about a year now and most recently I have been getting these very painful shock like sensations in different parts of my neck that only last a second. Thannks so much!!

Mine started with strange sensations in my feet but you might like to look at L'Hermitte's sign.

I was referred to a neuro only after an MRI I had performed looking for a tumor near my ears (because of hearing problems) existed. The MRI showed lesions on the brain and that brought me to the neuro. Also, I was having problems with dizziness and light headedness. My first symptom was vertigo that lasted more than a month straight. For the first 2 years of my vertigo, other symptoms started up, like problems with my bladder. Slowly the other symptoms started acting up. I was seeing a neuro, but all he was doing was watching my MRI's for changes every 6 months. I had no changes and yet I couldn't get a dx. because the neuro saw no changes in my MRI's. I changed neuro's because I truly believed I had MS and nobody would dx me. I went through 3 neuro's before I got my DX. I have also since had my DX confirmed by three other neuro's. So yes, I'm on my 6th neuro, in fact, I'm back seeing the very first neuro I ever saw.

Early treatment is sooo very important. Please do some googling on early MS treatment to see what I'm saying. If you suspect you have MS, don't play around with these doctors that are not going to test you. Get a neuro to perform an MRI of your brain and spine, with and without contrast. Go through the entire neurological exam. List all your symptoms on paper, and take the paper with you to the appointment. List the symptom, and how long it lasted. Give this list to the neuro.

Please know that everyone is different and therefore their symptoms will be different. Orsova has got the right idea, L'Hermitte's sign. That is the first thing I thought of. Please check it out. Do you have other symptoms? Have you ever seen a neuro? Have you had an MRI? Please tell us more about your situation.

My first symtom was mild vertigo that endred for several daysin early March when weather got really warm all of the sudden (I had peripheral vertigo that lasted several hours for several years in a row-not related to MS). A day prior to vertigo started i had a nervous breakdown. Followinf vertigo I got internuclear ophtalmoplegia with double and blurry vision. MRI showed dawson fingers pattern. Dr is vey sure I have MS, not because of vertigo (this one was central nervice system one) but because of lesions on my brain together with internuclear ophtalmoplegia. IO in otherwise health young adults is a very strong sign of MS and lesion pattern is more important that its quantity supported IO.

Mine started 3 years ago with numb ice cold feet.My general doc ignored this.This winter the numbness AND tingling too did my leg, arms and facial cheeks.REgular doc kept giving me antipressants!!!!! Then the massive headaches began, I could hardly walk for weak and numb feet/legs.I demanded a Neurogist.CT scans normal BUT MRI of head w and w/o contrast show abnormal w 10 bright white spots/lesion on my brain! Keep a list of all your symptoms. I also have confusion and lack of focus and am very impatient at times
