I was diagnosed with MS in 1983. For years I have had blood in my urine. Have had all kinds of tests done and nothing has shown up as to what is causing it. Do other MSers have this problem and is it related to the MS?

Hi.

I'm not oficially diagnosed yet, but like you've I've had blood in my urine for years. I've been through all the testing for it too and nothing was found to be the cause.

I'm sorry that I can't with an answer as to if it is MS related, but I thought I would share the fact that I have the same problem.

I just happen to be looking into Candida a lot lately and found it linked to MS of course and also just found in linked to blood in urine:

Candida can cause the following problems depending upon the organ infected:

Candida in the kidneys can cause blood in the urine
Candida in the heart can cause murmurs and valve damage
Candida in the lungs can cause bloody sputum (mucus discharge)
Candida in the eyes can cause pain and blurred vision
Candida in the brain can cause seizures and acute changes in mental function or behavior

Lisa: Thank you so much for responding to my post. At least I know I am not a lone with this problem! I certainly hope you will be diagnosed soon -- its harder to fight the unknown. It took 10 years for me to be diagnosed so heres praying you will soon have an answer. Thanks for the hugs and heres some back to you ((((( ))))
Lorrie: Thank you so much for the information on Candida -- very interesting. Didn't realize it could cause blood in the urine but having yeast infections has been a constant battle for me and especially since I am always on antibiodic's.

I have never had blood but I am real glad you had yourself tested because that would cause me to be concerned. Hope you have a good urologist and she/he stays on top of this.
I have been cathing for 10+yrs and no blood. I had a renal ultrasound as a ck because of UTIs. It was OK. Hope everything cks out for you.

Yes I have bladder issues , and I also have pain. I drink cranberry juice daily.

My late husband - not an MSer - had blood in his urine and he went for an ultrsound of his kidneys. They found cysts on his kidneys.

I have bladder urgency and slight leakage, but have never had any blood in my urine.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
