I agree, if you don't get a call back today, definitely look for another doctor. Your symptoms may not be life threatening but a return call would be nice. Try to stay as calm as possible because even if you are not in a relapse, the stress is bad and could bring on symptoms.

If it is any consolation my doc of 9 years (one who diagnosed me) NEVER called back. His thought - emergency go to the ER, anything else wait to see him. Refills you keep calling until the bitch of a secretary calls it in. Second doc much better. He actually called with test results and if you had a question the NP called and if she could not answer it he called but he was still a Fellow and cared. Not yet invested in a practice. New doc seen the other day for 1st time - got the impression he could have cared less. Said he would call in the Copaxone. So far have heard nothing from the mail order place about delivery so my guess - no call. So now I guess I have to call them but he too said if I had a problem I would most likely need to come in as he doesn't like to make call backs. So good luck! I think it is just a trend with neuros.

Last Thursday I woke to what I thought was a relapse, feeling extremely fatigued (more so than normal), tremors, blurry/double vision really bad, headache (I never get headaches), vertigo symptoms. I waited until Monday to call the doctor. I wanted to see if the symptoms would disappear on their own.

I called the doctor and told them I was having a relapse, and scheduled an appt. for the very next day. Maybe you should have called for an emergency appt. instead of a return call? Anyway, I got my emergency appt. and the doctor immediately ordered all kinds of tests, including an immediate MRI to see what was going on. It turns out that I have a urninary track infection, which causes the pseudo symptoms. My point is, this is the kind of treatment you should be getting from your MS neuro. If not, then it is time for you to find another doctor that will be responsive to your needs.

Thank you everyone. I just changed to her last year b/c my neuro took off for 2 weeks and no one covered her patients...........guess i will be looking for another one.

Oh, by the way, my neuro just called me today, 2 days after I saw her on an emergency basis to just ask me how I was doing and if I needed anything! Now that's an EXCELLENT neuro! I hope you can find one.

This Ms is stressfull enough without a Dr who dont care....I too called my Dr three times in a week never did get a call back.I even called to try to be a earlier appt...and the sec said he was booked for 3 months........I am hurting and very fatigued,and told her all this she did'nt care.I am looking for a new neuro

I have learned over the years, and even if you have a Dr. that does care, the office staff does not! I just keep calling and pestering them, until I get a satisfactory answer. They get tired of answering your calls and someone will talk with you. Remember YOU ARE PAYING THEM (or your insurance).

d3bears is right. The smartest thing you can do is try to establish a relationship with the office staff. If that is if its possible. I had a neuro only available 1 day a week and he would be gone for 1-2 months-no cover, You had to talk to a resident who would say come to the the ER

I befriended his secretary and it was some help. I think the reality these days is you can only expect so much from any Dr. Especially a specialist. A younger newer doctor is sometmes more responsive. They are fresh, new and building a practice. My old neuro has thousands of patients.

Can your primary intervene? That is part of their job.

Hope you feel better and can get some help soon. Dealing with doctors is practically as difficult as this disease. And it shouldn't be that way but it is.

Just thought I'd mention this ...one way you might find a good Neuro may be to visit a MS Support group. Ask the people there if they have good dr.'s or if they know of any good ones in your area.

I did this at one time, and it led me to a wonderful Neuro who was absolutely the best!
(unfortunately I moved, or I would still go to her!) But, the method of finding a good MS doctor worked for me! Best of luck to you!

Here I am a week later and still have fatigue symptoms and called again with no call back. Last week when the neuro finally called back she said I was probably not having a relapse and it is just part of the MS. I have never felt this way before ! Shouldnt she do something? She told me she could put me on a pill for fatigue and i said i really dont want to take another pill just yet. Ths fatigue came on about 3 weeks ago and hasnt left me yet..along with that I am dizzy(especially laying down), headache and vision gets blurry (at times...not all the time).
I am so confused.
I just had blood work done by primary and all is good with that.
