I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you. I too married at 18. We will celebrate our 32nd anniversary next month. I can't imagine my life without my husband. I hope that you are able to find some comfort in your children and grandchildren. Maybe a support group, as Bitteroot suggested, might help a little. No one else can understand your pain as well as someone who has suffered the same loss. I will pray for you..

As everyone else, I am truly sorry for your lose. I would be devasted if I losted my wife. I have been married to her more than twice as long I I was without being married.

So sorry for your loss. I have a very similar situation to what you went through, so if you ever want to chat, please feel free to contact me. The difference with my scenario was I was undiagnosed with my MS and the doctors insisted on trying to get me to run all the tests. My husband had cancer and we knew it was terminal. I put my MS diagnosis on the back burner. Take the time you need for you. Try writing in a journal about the things you did or loved about him. It may be very hard at first, but it will also be very therapeutic. Try not to stress yourself out over what other people want you to do. Gentle hugs.

I am sorry for your loss, truly. I just lost my grandmother on the 22nd last month. She had raised me so I felt as if my mother had passed. I've had bad luck with flare ups since I was diagnosed in Jan 2012 and emotional issues can push me over the brink, and before I know it I can't walk without holding on to something and have no control over my fingers, I get very weak as well. It's frustrating when these flare ups happen especially when you are already going through so much. I hope you find peace and feel your husbands presence with you always. Good luck and god bless

Thank you all for you're kind posts. It is so comforting to have so many people supporting and praying for me. Well the stress finally took its toll and my right leg started to go numb something that has not happened in years so off to 3 days of solumedrol. I am feeling better with the MS issues and trying to not stress as much and trying to not worry about making any decisions for a while. It's only been a month and at times I still expect him to walk in and laugh and say gotcha! Take care of yourselves.

I'm sooo very sorry and I know that saying that seems so hollow when you have lost so much in your life. I can only imagine what it would be like to lose my other half too,and my heart breaks for you.

It seems the stress is making your MS act up. Hopefully it will settle down shortly.

You have been through such a life altering experience. Take some time for yourself, take good care of yourself, and vent when you need to. We are here for you.

My deepest sympathy to you. I buried my mother on Monday and it still is so surreal. My MS hasn't flared too badly yet. Hope you can find some peace soon.

Kaye, I am so terribly sorry about your loss. You took the words away from my fingertips when you said you would not make any serious decisions for a while - I think that is very important. Especially about the house. My mother insisted on selling our house soon after my father died, as she said there were too many memories there for her. Later, she regretted it terribly.

I'm going through something similar with my best friend We have been like sisters for more than half-a-century. She has advanced MS and it feels like there is a huge, gaping black hole in my heart already, because she is losing her memory.

I guess that is the risk we take - when we dearly love somebody, there is always the chance that they won't be there forever.
