I have come to the conclusion that ms is like a silent, but deadly fart. You cannot see it and you do not hear it comming, but you sure do know when you've walked into one. Your eyes water, your stomach clenches and you try to get to clean air as soon as possible. Except with ms there's no clean air, only remission. Then you walk into another one and sometimes it stinks worse than the last one.

You can't beat MS with anger or frustration or power or force. I soon learned that I could not only have MS, I could have MS with "attitude!" My attitude was I will win, because even though MS is tough...and my body may not be so tough anymore...."I" am smarter than MS. I can fight it with "balance!"
This is one disease that you HAVE to fight with balance. It is the ONLY way to fight it. It requires almost God like qualities. When you are most stressed, you have to calm yourself down. When you want to do things the most and can't you have to go rest and allow yourself to be okay with that. When you want to cry, you have to laugh. When the party or event heats up and everyone else is having the time of their life, you have to go cool down.
I have to exercise, I have to eat healthy, I have to rest, and because of the balance that I have created, I once again am in remission.
MS is strong. I may not be as strong, but I am a lot smarter than MS is. If you are finding a way to laugh at the MS, it sounds like you are smarter than MS too.

I have never felt angry at ms or what it has done to me, maybe because I was late forties when dx. In my pre ms life, I did all I had to, all I wanted, all I shouldn't. And did everything hard and with heart.
As a mother I felt saddened because while I had returned from the party my daughter was just beginning to get dressed. But ive put all my energy into teaching her how to die living instead of live dieing. She is mostly happy, im good.

Yep, laughing at yourself is a lot better than reacting any other way. I sometimes say to myself I am having 'snail races' when I am getting down the street, especially when the elderly people in my neighborhood seem like they are running circles around me!
