carolinagirl123
Had ms since 2005' I have chronic pain in my legs,, feet and ankles. I'm on on good , as best as I'm gonna get, narcotic meds and Lyrica. I stretch daily warm soaking baths even a hot tub but still have incredible sore muscles in all my pain areas....legs,feet and ankles. I read and hear that stretching helps. But hasn't in my case. I'm either not stretching enough or wasting my time. Any advice , thoughts would be appreciated .

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

The best thing I have found is laser acupuncture, I am lucky my local gp does it & bulk bills so doesn't cost. I go every week & he targets different parts of my body at different times if something is esp sore,
I am on bacofen & another one tesadine (sorry no idea how to spell it)
I do find that it does not always work.
I use a massager a good hand held one that is light enough & will a good handle that I can use it on my back & neck.
It is the only way I can get through.
I in a hospital bed so I put it between me & the bed so I do not have to hold it.
when I was at home I put it between me & the couch/chair.
The one I use now is from walh & it has different "pad" to put on it so you can change the depth you feel it.
It also has heat or cold on it
once my muscles are looser I can stretch better.
I find if I try to stretch when my muscles are too tight I do more harm then good
Looking back at my life I
have realised that I was great at
meditation at 7 years of age. When I couldnt
sleep at night because my legs where hurting
very very much. So what I came up with back then
(having absolutely no idea about the
concept of meditation) I find truly
remarkable now. Whenever I was in pain, I
started imagining
that my legs were hurting on the other side of
the bed and as long as I was staying on my side of
the bed it couldn't possibly affect me. Because
how could it? As pain and I were in different places ;0).
Funny thing is that it has taken me a very
long time to learn how to meditate properly
(in a grown up kind of way) and to be honest
I think Im not really there just yet. Unless my legs start
to hurt at night and then it only takes me a couple of
minutes to switch off from the reality and
fall asleep. (I wish I could also do it with
migraines...;).
Hope that helped somehow... Love! E x x x x
