Could this be MS?

I was diagnosed with complex migraines 1.5 years ago after my first episodes which included: numbness on left side of my body, jerking on my left side, pins and needles in my feet, and blurred vision in my left eye. I was prescribed Topamax and it seemed to help lessen the number of episodes. Since that time, I may have lapses of months between a time span of episodes in which the episodes change with symptoms. The episodes I currently am going through include: tics, numbness in hands, left leg weakness, problems finishing sentences, urinary trouble, pins and needless in feet and hands, and dizziness. My wife is becoming increasingly concerned that maybe I was misdiagnosed. Could this be MS? Could the doctors have missed it? Thank you for your help.

I am not an expert by any means,however,by what you describe I have had many of the same symptoms.The main one being is Migraines. Have had them all my life, and never have I heard the term you used "Complex Migraines" If you are not satisfied with your Dr's DX, than by ALL means go for a second opinion. MS is a complicated disease,one that does not have an easy was to determine it.MRI's seem to be the best mode of determination, so you might want to suggest this to the Doc. Good Luck, and don't just settle for what they tell you, remember, they didn't all graduate at the head of the class. God Bless, Marny

Hi Numbone,

I think that it's important to remember that many diseases and disorders can cause the above symptoms. It's imperative to have the correct diagnosis from a neurologist, in order to procure the correct treatment. Had they misdiagnosed me with MS (I too have some symptoms similar to yours.) and treated the disease thusly, I might not be here today.

I TOO REC AN MRI AND FULL WORK-UP. IT COULD BE ANY OF THE MYRIAD OF NEURO DISEASES. COMPLEX MIGRAINES DO NOT CAUSE THESE SYMPTOMS.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
